War imminent with Russia

Why should Russia invade Ukraine though? I mean seriously, what could they possibily gain from it?
 
So, time to dig this one up again. Apparently Ukraine enacted 30 days of martial law following some incident with russian and ukrainian ships.
 
Well, Trump didn't quite make us out to be a super bitch. He did send lethal military aid and hopefully, he'll send Putin a punch in the mouth.
 
Russia seems to me like a bully of a country, of people who are mostly fairly aggressive bullies. I wish they took on a country of their size, like China, for instance.
 
Jeez, can we just get this over with and end the World already?

The real question is why does the world keep putting up with Putin, oh I know all you Europeans get your oil and gas from either them or the middle east.....

I look at it like this. Would you rather Putin be an ally or an enemy?

Hopefully Russia sees him for what he is soon enough, but it's easier to talk the guy down when you're on friendly terms. I see this as nothing more than baseless threats anyway.
 
Someone like Putin would never be a friend. Or he would be that asshole friend who consistently takes advantage of you.

Putin is an aggressive competitor, one of those type As who do not like to lose. His whole rise was based on nationalistic rhetoric. Make Russia Great Again, and all that. Remember his Soviet Union speech?

Why do you think Russia and China will never have a type of relationship like the one U.S. and Britain has? or the French? Both China and Russia are so busy thinking of themselves that anything more than basic working relationships is untenable.

I think the actuall truth is, that many Russians really like Putin and what he does.
