Wasteland 2 update: Weapons and assets

Did WL1 have energy weapons?

Just curious, it is not a question related to the debate up there.

Yes, from the humble laser pistol, through the laser rifle, to the ion beamer and meson cannon.

Good to know. How were they traded in regards to progression? Were they more end game like FO1, or an optional weapon line, as in NV?

In FO1/2 the laser weapons (especially the pistols) were utterly useless; was there such an issue in the energy guns of WL1? Or were things better placed throughout the game?

Like Fo1, get lately and far stronger then other weaponary.
Problem is that laser weapon is still weak, better then assault rifle though. Problem is that energy cell is limited. so using weak energy weapon isn't good idea. If weak energy weapon is effective, then assault rifle still useful. If assault rifle became useless, then laser pistol or rifle isn't that effective. then you have to find better energy weapon, find proton ax or use AT weapon to beat.

Daggerfall had a lot more skills then Morrowind, Oblivion and now Skyrim

thanks for nostalgia bombing my brain.

Daggerfall was my 1st computer RPG and it was glorious. In character creation you could do all sorts of ridiculous ways. You could start knowing different languages (never found it that had any benefit), put points into reputation with different factions, could get points back by making your character weak to certain elements or even sunlight.

The glitches were utterly hilarious, where clipping through fences made you super jump across town or wiggling/jumping in a door way could drop you outside a dungeon and you could run on top of the tunnels to the location you wanted to go. Many great hours spent messing around in that game (note: I never came close to beating the main quest, didn't even understand what was behind the ghosts in the Capital).

Problem is that monster language skill isn't that useful so it wouldn't be bad to remove. for Oblivion->skyrim(actually fo3), I hate they remove acrobatics

I am not saying that all of the skills had a purpose. But I always think you should first try to find a use for the skills instead of just simply "removing" it. But expecting depth from a Bethesda game is a bit to much today I guess.

acrobatics had me jumping around the whole map. all the time. it became such a habit that I kept doing it in other games where it made very little sense
