What are your favorite albums?

Ehehe, I was actually pretty close to adding Miles Davis: live in Olympia - Mar. 20th, 1960 - a brilliant double-CD, feat. John Coltrane - on my list, but on the very last moment I decided to add In Utero instead...

And Louis had to be on there. I've been waking up to 'When you're smiling (the whole world smiles with you)' for two years now :D

I think Miles is somewhat overrated, to be honest, though Kind of Blue is and will always be...kind of blue...

John Coltrane's a genius, though, some of the work he did with the Five Elements is brilliant.

It was eponymous, I believe.

Your face is eponymous.

What is this about a pony mouse anyway? What is that?

Miled Davis? Overrated? Damn, who would have thought that the Netherland's drug laws would result in a generation of people with shitty taste in music!

See? You can't even criticise him without some halfwit who doesn't know jazz from funk from afrobeat jumping in with some dumbass comment.

Look, everyone and their horse likes Miles Davis. Yes, he's good, but he's not that good.

See, "overrated" is not synonymous with bad. He's good. He's excellent.

I've heard better. The bloody Gato could beat Miles on a good day.

Thats a very tricky question.. so in no particular order..

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Our Lady Peace - Spiritual Machines
Nirvana - Nevermind
Transplants - Transplants
Feeder - Polythene
Incubus - S.C.I.E.N.C.E

I've probably missed loads, I'm sure I'll come back and say more later..

Plus, he basically invented crossover jazz, which means he should be loathed by all. Fat chance of that happening though.

I'll take Django any day.

You heard me on the Davis, you don't want to hear me on the Reinhardt.

Hah, just kidding. Love the Django.

QuickSilver Messenger Service - Happy Trails
King Crimson - Starless and Bible Black
Gong - You
Can - Tago Mago
Grateful Dead - AOXOMOXOA

Don't know if I can really name my top favored albums, but these are five albums I really like I guess.

I'll have to add Johnny Cash - Live At San Quentin to my list.

It's not as famous as his visit to Folsom, but the setlist is infinitely better, and the energy is of a totally different nature. This is really Cash at his best and wildest, a real portrait of the era of "outlaw country music." Awesome record.
