What are your opinions on Jrpgs?

I have it, but it doesn't work for some reason. It worked perfectly on another PS2 I got to try it out over a friend. I would love to play it, so I try to see if the CD is faulty, by buying it again.
Damn, I hope it's not a curse with this specific game's CD. Like I mentioned before, I'd love to continue playing the game but back then the game just stop during certain cutscene, so I hope you don't experience the same.

PS. Apparently Rogue Galaxy got a remaster for PS4, but it's not digitally available in my country :violent:

Edit: actually, it appears that the Rogue Galaxy for PS4 is just an emulation of PS2 game, cause otherwise it wouldn't look almost exactly the same as PS2 version, or plain worse than PC emulation

Don't like them.

Don't like their looks. Don't like their gameplay. Don't their often over the top dramatization.

Don't like them, don't play them.

don't

Speaking of deep stories. The story in Fallout is trope filled shit. Especially from Fallout 2 onward. C&C was the series saving grace then they got rid of that. This is the doomed timeline.

Dialog options so RPG.
I will continue your "Dialogue choices so RPG" train of thought :salute:.

Here we have a great example of C&C in JRPGs. The game is Metal Saga for PS2, and this is the first choice we can do in that game (it's right there in the start, before you can even control your character in any way).
If you want to skip the intro, options and naming of the character, you can skip to 2:40:

I will say one thing. I never saw any WRPG that allows me to control a character that can build, scavenge and repair tanks, make a squadron of pilots with tanks and other armored vehicles, including dogs with cannons at their back, cut helicopters in half with a sword, go "out there" defeating giant monsters and other group of enemy tank pilots, have drinking games, etc.

Any RPG where we can pilot tanks already receives an "Awesome"

from me.

Vagrant Story has the deepest weapon crafting of any RPG I have played. 7/10 not a real RPG.

No opinion, since I have no experience with them. If anyone has any suggestions for some of the good ones, I’d be interested.
Bloodborne, Dark Souls Trilogy, Nier Automata, Pokémon, Final Fantasy series, any of these will do. If you want something old-school, try out Dark Souls. But if you wanted something tactical turn-based, then try out either Pokémon or Final Fantasy games. Is that good for you? Because that's the only JRPGs I have ever known of playing them.

Dark Souls is not old school. Those words don't go together.

It is quite old-school in spirit.
Non-existent hand-holding, retro approach to level design where you start from the same spot with all enemies respawned if you were killed, almost no cutscenes, the whole plot is delivered from the PC's perspective, it's aesthetics are rooted in European history and not in your run-of-the-mill overblown, modern fantasy look etc.

Then again, there is no definition of what "old-school" means, so you can label whatever you want as old-school. Or nothing.
I don't consider it old-school in whatever way, it's just that its design philosophy is much more rooted in 90s NES and SNES era games than in approach its contemporaries had.

Oh, okay. Challenging is what I meant, I don't know why I put old-school but I needed some sleep. My mind is like flipping channels filled with moments of what I've experienced and that's a problematic situation I'm in oh please senor, senpai, lord, savior, Mr. President, whatever the fuck I shall address you... I NEED HELP!!! (not really, I'm just a sleepy boi, that's alllllllllllllllll)
