What did you get for Christmas/New Year?

- I got these nifty Bose sound canceling headphones to drown out the stupidity that surrounds me.
- A hundred bucks from my aunt and uncle.
- Parents took me to the mall for clothes and things. I was starting to look as ragged as Luke's stripper's cooter.

And its ironic that when I was small I wanted toys not clothes, now I want clothes and not toys. Strange.

Oh man I had it great!

-$40 worth of gift cards that I used to buy Resident Evil 4 for the PC and Galactic Civilizations.
-$50 worth of book gift cards which I heartily used to buy some manga and fantasy books. I was exuberantly happy since the store I went to offered a "buy 3 get 4th free" and I ended up with 8 books.
-MST3K Vol. 2
-Some Magic booster packs.

I'm so happy especially for the books.

I kept the money and handed the socks over to my dad because my sock drawer is about to explode.
 
So, for christmas:

- 4000 mAh notebook cell; from my parents
- 30 € Cash; from my grandparents
- some books, including A Clockwork Orange, Strasburgers's Botany and Alberts' Microbiology (those are quite expensive); from family and friends
- a bootle of fine, 20 year old scotch whiskey; from my girlfriend

We drank the scotch together at new year's eve, ended up in trying to have sex and totaly failed due to intoxication.

EDIT: and a like a dozen different flavours of tobacco for my hookah.
 
I personally received $45 for christmas. The family got some DVDs and much chocolate I can share.

Science textbooks are painfully pricey, so I find it pleasantly surprising that there are searchable versions of several biomedical textbooks online at the NCBI Bookshelf. They are too cumbersome to read normally, but are convenient for quick research to complement papers.
 
Having 2 kids, I asked not to get anything this Christmas. I just told people to get stuff for the kids.

However, I did get stuff. All the brothers and sisters and spouses on my wife's side decided to do gag gifts. I got a little back massager- :D .

My dad gave me and the wife enough money to get a baby sitter and to go out to a nice restaurant- :D :D .

My wife thought she was buying me Pirates of the caribbean, Deadman's Chest, but accidently got Curse of the Black Pearl instead, which I already have. :(

Plus I got the flu, which kicked in late Christmas Eve. :( So I couldn't enjoy Christmas dinner. :puke:

Scary enough, two of my family members got my sister the Black Pearl by accident as well. I wonder if they need to better differentiate the series titles/dvds.
 
i got a Roots Watch, black anodized stainless steel...and a dressed shirt.. a really nice shirt.

if you don't count what i bought my sons (DS lites, games, legos)...eheheh!!

-And the happy felling that one gets when he gave nothing.

PS: that black cock thing is just too easy to make a pun about, so i wont.
 
I am rather pleased with what I got this year.

- A new scimitar, which, while it is not quite my taste, is pretty, and looks nice with my old, black-bladed, dragon-hilted one. The new one is all silvery, with a hilt shaped like an angel. Of course, both are fully functional; as a fencer, I would accept nothing less.

- A new set of Prismacolor pencils and Bristol board, along with some new sketch pads, and a nice sketching pencil.

- A Flogging Molly shirt

- Deadstar Assembly's new CD

- A bottle of Jack

- Vodka and the stuff needed to make Mudslides

- A kitten, whom I have named Ratt.

I got a T-shirt from my girl and an ashrtray (small, nothing fancy) from my mom.

Don't asume I'm not worth more or anything, but that's all I got.No money for Christmas, but my preasents my last 2 birthdays from my father was to pay 2 taxes for college (100E each)
