What did you NOT like about FO 1 & 2?

Other than the first time I finished Fallout 1 and thinking... "Wow.. already?" (I've since learned how to drag the thing on as long or as short as I like)...

The only real complaints I have would be (both games) - The bugs and unfinished stuff. Fallout 2 gets slammed a lot for bugs, but there was actually a lot of it in Fallout 1 as well, just most of it's less noticeable, but it's still there. And gads.. there's SO much that was just left undone. In itself, that's to be expected to a degree, but often all the hard parts (for developers with access to all the source etc) were DONE and a few simple steps would have enabled entire subquests or added whole areas to the game.

I guess I'm one of those people who'd rather wait 5 years for a true gem than have them shove cubic zirconia on me right away. Not that I'm *really* complaining. Fallout 1 & 2 are easily in my top 3 games of all time list, but I can't help but sigh at what COULD have been if they'd taken just a little longer to finish things up, and maybe have cut another patch or three for each of them before just calling them finished.

Regarding FO 1&2. I would of liked them to have put more work into the sneak skill, and maybe just stealth in general.

Sneaking behind a lone NPC you didn't like, stabbing him in the back at night time, and not pissing off the whole town. Now that would of been cool.

More emphasis on survival and making the game harder, would of been fun too. Expanding the penalties of radiation, poison, hunger, thirst, and addiction.

Barter and gambling, were also too overpowered, even at semi-high skill levels.

Other than that, I can't find too many things to gripe about, when it comes to Fallout 1. The game may be a little on the short and small side. But it is HIGHLY replayable.

With Fallout 2, the game world is significantly larger, but for me, it has less replayability than Fallout 1. The Temple of Trials and the Arroyo dialogues, really pulls me out of the atmosphere. The quests in Fallout 2, also have a "chore" feeling to them, at times.
