What do you think of Fallout 3's soundtrack?

I didn't like it at all at first and exchanged it quickly with more classic oriented and atmospheric tunes besides some insertions of Exotica here and there.
But I must say it has grown quite a bit on me and I see it now as stepping stones into his more pronounced later works and I'm playing more vanilla style than ever (although I DO use TTW and some compatible mods), only touching the Radio Stations sometimes (damn ThreeDog, he gets worse the more you play, I don't even go to GNR anymore)

It seemed like there should be a "not" there but missing an entire word is rare to see so I assumed that's what you meant. As for the rest? My feelings are completely opposite to yours. The so called "lore contradictions" are not there for me and indeed all of your statements are incredibly subjective.

Interesting NPCs? Subjective as hell. You don't like it, but all you wrote is very subjective.

We should also stop here, we've derailed this thread long enough.

That was literally the only subjective one I wrote.

What?
Fallout 1: "all fev research moved to westek
Fallout 2: "enclave could only get fev by excavating the fev base"
Fallout 3: "vault tek had fev too I guess"
How is that not a contradiction?

The capital wasteland has literally no history apart from the fall of rockopolis. Theres nothing for anyone to eat. There are no governments. There's like three factions in the game two of which appeared only recently. This shows a severe lack of worldbuilding. How is that subjective?

And the npc do rarely if I'd ever have more than one or two opinions on anything.

The rest were pretty unsubjective as well.
Especially the attack on the games writing.
missing an entire word is rare to see
Lol I do it all the time

@R.Graves
Fallout 1 & 2 also have NPCs that barely talk about anything.

Vault-Tec having FEV is not a stretch. They probably built Mariposa for all we know. But something not being explained is not a contradiction. A plot hole? Yes, but the hole can be filled. It just wasn't. All research being moved doesn't mean it stayed there. We don't know what happened in Mariposa between the FEV being moved there and the bombs falling. The Enclave dug there because it was close to them, doesn't mean it was the only place that housed it.

The Capital Wasteland has no backstory just like California back in the originals. You learn how individual settlements got built just like we did in Fallout 1 & 2.

Recent... as in 20+ years recent? That's not recent. The BoS and Enclave have been there for more than two decades.

Ah yes, the age old question of "what do they eat?" Well there are hunter encounters just like we do in Fallout 2. They also have brahmin... like Fallout 2... They don't have crops which is odd but surviving on meat and water isn't impossible. And the game makes it clear people are not doing well which is why so few settlements exist.

Yes. They're the unnamed ones. Or they're exceptions such as seth. At any in fo3 every single npc has barely any opinions at all.

Actually that's exactly what it is. The exact wording and context of the document in fo1 makes either a contradiction or a very big stretch. For all we know? We cant base things off of what we don't know that's insane. For all we know Hitler couldve been the second coming of jesus. It would explain his hatred of jews and ability to start a cult of personality.

The hub had politicsl history. Shady sands has history with gangs and vault 15. The brotherhood has history at mariposa. The razors have history at the the deathclaw den. The boneyard has history as s gang town.

Megaton has history from being built and uhhh there's a church.

They don't have crops which is odd but surviving on meat and water isn't impossible.
Hunting the very few animals is enough to feed entire towns such as megaton or rivet city?

And the game makes it clear people are not doing well which is why so few settlements exist.
I dunno. Everybody seems pretty content apart from a few bums who can't take irradiated water

If he's talking about food in Fallout 3 'What do they eat?', he's a fucking idiot.

I think I saw like, a handful of hunters, at best, one of which was a fucking HUMAN hunter.

That's not enough to feed the entire wasteland, not enough for a single god damned town.

They could have made a farm, like, gosh, Fallout NV, or a hydroponics place in Rivet city, huge one, but nooooooooooo.

Bethesda is a hack company which is lazy, get over it.

"But...but,but,but I jizzed to da firs encounter wit da Bruthahood of Steel vs da mutaunts."

My first encounter with them was remarkably unspectacular.

By the point I got to there, I'd already seen Mercs with plasma rifles, bandits with flamers and missile launchers, sentrybots and deathclaws.

Then all of a sudden they go "Oh no! These giant green/yellow men with barely more Hp than a raider, while armed with wooden sticks and broken hunting rifles, are surely the biggest threat to the whole wasteland!"

No, you senile old cunt, the biggest threat is the ever-spawning deathbots which disintigrate deathclaws, and the albino scorpions capable of taking on every named character at the same time, and winning.

I didn't like how I killed most of the mutants the first time I saw the BoS fighting Mutants and then Sarah Lyons comes to me all angry telling me they saved my ass and I should be careful where I go to... Saved my ass? I single handed killed 95% of the Super Mutants there while they killed like 1 or 2... I saved their asses...

I started hating Sarah after the first time I met her and I still hate her now all after all of these years...

Yeah, I fucking hate her too.

>Dude fucking walks up with a gatling laser, T-51b power armour, and about 900 deathclaw penises.

"Oh my gawd, we need to save you, tee hee! We're cool knights! And womyn!"

Look on the bright side: At least Sarah has (a teenie tiny bit) more personality than the rest of " The Brotherhood of Steel" in this game.

9_6

Her personality.

>Rawr! I am Knight!

>Shoot muties!

>Fuck Enclave!

>You destroyed my fanatical incompetent bosses, rawr you die now!

>Ded.

Brotherhood's personality:

>Rawr! I am Knight!
>Shoot muties!
>Fuck Enclave!
>You destroyed my fanatical incompetent bosses, rawr you die now!
>Ded.

Sarah's personality:

>Rawr! I am Knight!

>Fuck Enclave!
>You destroyed my fanatical incompetent bosses, rawr you die now!
>Ded.
>Hates Wanderer

See. She has 20% more personality than the brotherhood already!! XD

Whatever, I like the game.
Dude, calm down. Nobody here is shitting on you for liking the game. (except for Zeno but he's ignoring you, so you should ignore him too) That's it. That's the entire point of all of these and Graves's posts. We are merely talking about what we think is not right and definitely bad in Fallout 3.

This game has more music than the overused 1950s songs it has in the radio? Damn, then it must be extremely forgettable because i don't remember a single piece of music outside of the 1950s songs.

Then again, the entire game is bland, forgettable bread that completely bastardizes the series.

The soundtrack sounds very out of place for a Fallout game. Even Inor Zur's work for New Vegas felt out of touch.
He's a good composer, I won't deny that, but... bring Mark Morgan back.

HOLY GOD, FALLOUT 3 SOUNDTRACK

Compare that Michael bay - tier music to this:

Bethesda tries to think with the music that every fight is epic.

New Vegas music is not what I would call as memorable, but it's intense

The only music track upon New Vegas that was trying to be epic was Hoover Dam Battle theme. You know, the scale of having two armies fighting against each other? That is worthy of this kind of score.

I just can't bring myself to hate on the composers of FO3 because at the end of the day you know they at least put a little more thought and heart into their creations than Todd Howard ever did.

Also, is that 'Demo' from 'A Super Mario Thing' in your avatar???
