What do you think of Fallout 3's soundtrack?

Well its not like I dislike FNV sounds track at all but the ambient music when your out exploring isn't as good. I mean the general music in FNV is very good but I don't like some of the explore tracks as much. Also for some other reason I don't like the music when you open up FNV. I much prefer fallout 3's for some reason.

Call me a heathen all your like but I'm okay with that :salute:

Nah it's cool, I did ask in the thread title what do you think of 3's soundtrack after all.

Following that thread, i tried to listen those out of context.

Radioactive Sunrise, Life in the atomic Wasteland, Odds and Ends, Dawn over the waste, and Requiem for humanity kind of work for me. Problem is that the game as incredibly short soundtrack, radio included, compared with the lenght of the *game* (or rather the lenght of the fillers). So, ultimately, those musics end up repeated ad nauseam, which hurt the experience.

Really? Fo3 is the best main menu theme you've heard? Oh fuck im sorry man. Don't play a lotta games?

I whole-heartedly disagree. Fallout 3's title theme hardly fits the themes and nature of the title, seeming more like some epic hero's theme rather than a post-apocalypse vibe that they wanted. A great theme should be in line with the game it's trying to sell us on. Hotline Miami 2 and Metroid Prime are excellent examples of games with great title themes.

Oh...

Just set him on ignore until he stops trolling.

oh great, i come back to this forum after ages and and the first thread i click on is the same old circlejerk. even a thread about the fucking music has to turn into a rant about why fallout 3 is awful and not faithful to the originals.

i think fallout 3 is mediocre, but calling someone a "troll" for having a different opinion than you (despite the fact that he didn't start the arguing) is absolutely childish, and blocking someone for their opinions is the same as burying your head in the sand. maybe i'm not helping, but this shit pisses me off. bye bye NMA

That's because you are out of context. You see, when Pwener joined NMA 95% of his posts were pure Troll and/or inflamatory posts (my signature even contains a quote from one of his posts). Everyone thought he was a troll until he changed his behavior and IIRC even apologized for it. This troll behavior happened around the time this thread was created and a few members really were getting annoyed at Pwener because of all the troll content he had posted, so they got quick to treat him like a troll.

Also of those 3 posts you quoted there, 2 were made by the 2 more edgy (and many times annoying with their behavior) members around... Everyone keeps telling them to stop being jerks too. The thread kinda goes back to the right place quite quickly (with some derailing in the middle, but that seems to happen a lot around here).

I never said that... me and @Pwener had a conversation is all.

of course the threads gonna be of a negative tone. The popular opinion here is that the game was a disgrace in almost every way.

Couldn't agree more. You only do that if you have a shit opinion and can't defend it.

but this shit pissed me off. Bye bye NMA.

*criticizes Zeno for ignoring opinions that make him mad or disagree with*
*leaves entire site because he disagrees with our opinions*

... well I hope to see you again because there's nothing I adire more than passion.

I'm only a shit posting edge lord on the discord server though.

I would argue the game is not a "disgrace" from being the reason New Vegas exists.
Your logic is as follows: one game isn't a disgrace because a far superior sequel followed two years later... explain how this makes any modicum of sense?

It’s true that Fallout New Vegas wouldn’t have existed without the name being sold to Bethesda. However, we would have received an actual Fallout 3 around 2010-2014 through crowdfunding. Now there’s really nothing to thank Bethesda for, unless you enjoy the clunky action gameplay.

Because it ain't a disaster, it's just a mediocre game, weak Fallout game.

I should have thought about it for moment more, but the chances for that would had been slim as well. If not Bethesda, who knows who other would have received rights to the franchise. There's not many people I would have trusted it for.

Troika Games. Have you tried Arcanum? Go and play it, like right now.

Or are you familiar with Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines? Yeah, that's probably a better one if you're not up for an old-school RPG experience.

Like Black Angel said, Troika Games already had a deal on the table to buy the Fallout IP before Bethesda made their bid.
I will also add to Arcanum and VtM:Bloodlines the Temple of Elemental Evil. While the story is a bit lacking and the game might be a bit boring, it is the best cRPG engine to faithfully reproduce the D&D 3.5 RPG system ever made.
Troika Games was made and composed of ex-Black Isle people, so they would have been the best to continue the Fallout legacy.

It also allowed Fallout 4 to happen.

At this stage, I'd rather had taken my chances with what ever might've happened if Bethesda never got the franchise.
