What is your job/occupation?

I worked on many jobs before, but now due to my health problems and disabilities I am off working... To be honest I wish I could work, I am tired of having no spare money at all :-(.

I've been working as a natural selection agent... but I think I might get fired soon because I've been slacking. Then again a lot of us at the agency have been slacking off here lately.

I finished high school a year ago but I didn't want to go to college straight away after that, because I couldn't decide if I should go to computer science or something else. So I've been doing day trading since then and well.. I can't complain too much the money is pretty good. I kinda like it actually, it fits me well since I don't like getting out of my home too much. Wish I could do this all my life, but I know I'll have to move on from it sooner or later.

I am curious, what's your job/occupation. What do you do to make a living?
I am just leaving high school and am going to get a job as a cemetery worker (gravedigger).

Watch out man, you're going to get the Grave Digger perk ))

Navy vet that now works in GSA furniture contracting for the government. I know that sounds big, but its nothing more than a glorified sales job to needy and whiny Air Force pansys who can't put together their own desk chair.

In Uni at the moment doing a Game Tech Course.
But when I'm at Home, I usually work at a small independent Game Shop.
It's pretty fun, we all get along, we get to play PS4 when it's quiet and there's also telling our regulars to fuck off (it's all in good humour).

That sucks mate. I to a lesser extent can relate, I tore my Achilles tendon at work a few years back, I was out for 6 months, and when I was healed up, there was no work for around 5 months, which is common in construction.

I thought I would lose my mind. I ended up studying history, specifically post roman britan, always a passion of mine. Didn't go to school for it or get a degree, just threw myself into it.

Im not privy to the extent of your physical situation and frankly its none of my business, but, depending on where you live you could work while collecting disability, I think where I am its like 20 or 30 hours a week.

Thats obviously up to your situation and the laws where you live. Whatever happens I hope it works out for the best. Keep your chin up!

I know the feel, I got out of the Navy 2011 and only recently got employed in 2015. Life is not kind to the disabled and poor. especially when they are owed benefits and the government tries to get out of it.

Damn straight they are trying to do it with the Teamsters as well right now. All of my friends and I, after high school either joined the military, we were all 18-20 when 9-11 happened and we all lived about 5 miles outside of Manhattan, so yea..we were MAD, or joined a trade union, or at least got a trade..mechanic, electrician etc.

Its fucked, alot of my buds who served, fought, got out and are just now kinda starting their lives at 30+ years old. I got a few into the union, a few became cops..and a few are too messed up to do much and rely on us friends even financially, their family and uncle sam.

Thats not a knock on serving. I think it is one of the most selfless things one can do, I just wish the govt did more to helo these guys get acclimated to civy life and finding work and housing.

College student, studying chemistry, currently in 4th year and (hopefully) next term I would be writing my essay to graduate.

Also, I know @Hassknecht is the site's scientist, studying laser and stuff. Aside from him, I wanna ask (if there is) anybody else majoring in other branch of science (like physics, mathematics, biology, and others), for some advice to get into the science-y industry. Since I live in a third-world country, scientific research wasn't as appreciated as in the more advanced country.

Sorry Doomsday if I seemed tried to derail your thread with my shit :freak:

Hm, I guess it depends on the country you're in. Getting into science-y industry isn't hard, you need a degree in some related field (electrical or mechanical engineering or physics). If there's no good uni in your country and no real job opportunities you might have to emigrate. Many universities offer stipendia to foreign students, so that might be an option.

As for me, I studied physics with a focus on experimental condensed matter physics, and now I'm a research engineer/scientist developing laser systems technology.

For those interested, I actually thought about being a librarian, and then a groundsman, but I guess I buried those ideas (pun intended).

Currently a teacher's aid at the college I go to. I'm working towards a Master's degree in Education so I can become an English professor.

I also take care of lawns in the summer for extra money. Mowing, hedging, weedeating, etc.
