Not my first but it was the first handheld rpg I played. Some of the most fun I've ever had playing a game. I used to make myself sick by trying to play it in the car when I was little. Still probably a great game today. A shame I didn't manage to hold onto my advanced sp.

1995. The year I played Might and Magic 3 and Shining Force CD.
I still have never played the Might and Magic RPGs. I want to but I'm not sure which one to start with. It looks like either 3 or 4 is a safe bet.
