What we'd like to see in New Vegas?

I'd like to see the average wastelander take down a mutated mountain lion. I always wondered why mountain lions, cougars, whatever you want to call them weren't in the games somehow. There were coyotes, wolves, and feral dogs, but no cats. Mountain lions don't take shit from anyone, they are a resilient creature, with high survival and prey drive. Is it because it was the mountain lions who launched all the nukes from their lunar base!? Probably!

The Master should have dipped a few kittens to make monstrous Vat Cats. Be overwhelmed with cuteness as you're being eaten alive! Aww...

(PS. Mountain lions can't be done now anyway, with Oblivion and all.)

But... cats are nice. :(

Alright, I can see domestic little cats be easy prey, I don't see big wild cats as though. Big cats would be in the same boat as wild canines.

Just looked up cats on The Vault wiki; I must have missed the cat speech in Fallout 2.

I hereby propose that New Vegas be about defending your trusty cat companion from hoards of bastard cat eaters.

The only thing i would like to see is a red ryder bb gun with the compess in the stock. Oh and a son of bob's iguana stand. you know they got the contract for the N.C.R field rations.

~Bring back Doctor and First-aid and associated kits and doctor bags. Only make them more useful than in FO1 and 2 considering that if you are using your doctor or first-aid skill with your bare hands, it won't do much.
~Pain should play a role in the character's, and every other NPC's and certain critters' performance. There should be a certain "pain threshold" depending on Endurance.
~Make limbs easier to cripple and much more difficult to treat, even with a high doctor skill and correct supplies... perhaps make it so certain times, the injury is so severe that the player must live with it for a while, even if treated 100% by a physician or by the character themselves with an extremely high doctor skill.
~Like everyone else said, poisoning in various ways, but different antidotes unlike in FO1 and 2 it was always the radscorpion antidote, used for any type of poisoning other than only radscorpions.
~Diseases and real, noticeable complications. Even colds, and other minor health complications to worry about too, and everything I mentioned should affect every human NPC possibly, and perhaps unique diseases that affect other races like ghouls and super mutants.
~No invulernability during VATS.
~What everyone else said about there not being so many hostile encounters and critters and such...
~More random items that are useful, not just a bunch of toy cars and lunchboxes and things like that everywhere that are only for these homemade weapons. Not as many intact computers and things like that, sitting in the middle of rubble and burned out furniture and stuff... on that note, if you hack a computer and it says "deactivate turret system", the entire turret system in that building/area should be deactivated, not just that SINGLE turret around the corner. Etcetera.

I would like to see some more failed experimental BOW's, maybe have a hidden lab or something you can investigate.

The ability to affect the lives of the citizens of each town.

Good example: FoT  In Tactics one CAN NOT use FA or Doctor without proper bag. An this would be nice for NV too

Complex weaponry, such as bayonets and stuff you can attach to assault rifles.

And if at all possible, NV should be canon to the pnp, not to some f*cked up wannabe New Reno bethesda version. It's described as being not that populated and surrounded on almost all sides with GROUND-ZERO RADIATION!

That means it's harder than hell to enter, and harder than hell to leave. None of the stupid invisible wall bs or random mountain ranges.

Ammo!

I would really like to see different ammo for guns. And if nothing else, some damn slug rounds for shotguns! Even if its rare.

I would love to see more creatively made guns (like the pipe gun and homemade guns). Also some more maintenance of the guns and melee weapons that are home made. These things were not made as solid as what is left over from before the nukes.

Oh! Some difficulty would be nice at higher levels. I played FO3 on Hard, and it was challenging until like lvl 6 then it was just a destruction fest (except for a few things) But you get so strong mid-late game that nothing can really challenge you.

Are you referring to the maintenance of guns and armor? Or maintenance referring to fixing three pipes in Megaton type of deal?

I like the concept of having to maintain equipment, but there needs some improvement in that department. The deterioration was a bit too quick in Fallout 3, and why can't we use scrap metal, other useless junk, or other parts from different guns/armor to repair stuff.

I just like to see Obsidian not mess this up or detor too much from what we already had. IMO, Bethesda did a heck of a job. I would like to see more places to check out-more destinations in the wasteland but I feel that vegas may be limited...not so much a sprawl

Repair Skill

I'd like to see the repair skill more involved all around.

Like, you can break apart guns and gear and other items into various parts. And use those parts to make other things. Not here's the same gun, we can repair this one just like it.

Basically lets say the barrel on your gun is just getting worn to its end. But all the guns you have do not have good barrels either, so you're stuck with bad barrels until you can locate a good one. I always felt the repair skill was an important skill in the FO series but was always underused. Like you would repair your car in FO2 and maybe use the repair skill 6 or 10 other times and that is it. Like the Science skill, you had to get them really high for a few things but thats all it was used for.

KoToR 2 type of item creation/mods linked to repair and other skills would be sweet to see for sure. I liked making the items in FO3 but it was just so.....basic. And there was all of what? 10 things to make? With only 3 useful for your char for any one play though. I would like to sharpen knifes and have them dull when used, create ammo for my guns or upgrades, create or improve my armor. This to me would really give the world a scavenger feel. Hell, that could be the skill used to take things apart! Scavenger. I'd like to see individual armor slots. Head, chest, shoulders, gloves, arms(maybe 2 pieces) Legs(multi part).

Maybe I can kill that radscorpion and create some basic armor from the carapace? Or even a Melee weapon from the tail that could poison people!

One other thing I really want to see.

I want to see the PS3 version be in 1080p! Goddamn! That be some way to see the wastes!

No one will do that, just because of difference between every weapon. Do you remember two different weapons in Fo3 (at least in Fo3) that have vice-versa replaceable barrels?

Th only good idea is to ADD something to existent guns, using repair skill and some additional items.

I'd like to see individual armor slots. Head, chest, shoulders, gloves, arms(maybe 2 pieces) Legs(multi part).
Oh, Sims fans attacking :? And what you mind to do with Power Armor? Tear it apart?

This was in Morrowind, how is it "Sims"? It's also in WoW, but that's not exactly a good example.

Armor customization would be cool, but it's not really Fallout.

Power Armor would just be one piece, not everything would be. I personally wouldn't mind something like this, it certainly would give any post-apocalyptic game more of a scavenged, gotta use what you can get, feeling. It would have to have more of a purpose though than "let's play dress up!" Obviously, this concept would be giving different degrees of protection to various parts of the body.

But, I could also do without it, and keep the game more like previous Fallout games.

"let's play dress up!"
Well, it was a part I've named "Sims" And i know Morrowind and WoW were same in that way. In both cases one modified his visual look not for better protection or even somewhat usability, but for shiny look and such... I will bang my (or their) head on the wall, if they make similar in NV
