What would you have done if you were in the Fallout universe? Start a raider group? Work for the BoS? Become a wanderer?

I probably would have started a caravan and wander across the Midwest selling goods.
 
Join the BoS, especially if we are exploring a Fallout that's either 10 years or maybe 20-30 post bomb drop.

You would be somewhat pretty tough to survive for so long already.

While raiders can rely on fellow asshats who are unreliable and poorly equipped, as a member of the brotherhood, your backup carries heavy weapons while protected by power armor. While raiders often achieve their objectives through brute force and rudimentary strategy (unless dealing with a group led by ex-military), your backup uses squad tactics and fire and move.

While everyone else ekes out a living in the dirt, lucky to find water and food, you enjoy electricity, knowledge, and live in one of the most safest places in the wasteland.

Depends on what year it is and where I get dropped in I suppose. I'd probably go fuck a ghoul at some point though. I seriously have no idea what I'd so. Become a whore at some town probably. Easiest way to make money and after the first rough guy/gal gets slashed up by my knife the rest will understand not to fuck with me.
 
Hmm... You can't really just join the BoS or the Enclave, otherwise I'd go with "Brotherhood Scribe".

If I was just some normal schmo, well, so much depends on the setting. Obviously I'd like to imagine I could play the hero and solve the wasteland's problems but I'm not much of a fighter, or a silver-tongued manipulator. If I was in the west, I'd probably end up in some minor research role with the Followers. In the east, well the setting is so messed up there's no real point looking for realism in it. Although it would probably be something along the lines of "get shot".

There's also the fact that I'm making these assumptions from the point of view of a 21st century, university educated, western European. If I had grown up on a Brahmin ranch in 23rd century New Mexico, I would probably have a different perspective.
 
Start a raider group and begin extorting nearby settlements for money and supplies. I would then start to strengthen my influence and hold, in the aim to start a caravan group and become the official leader of the area.
 
I will stay with Desert Rangers before NCR show up and merge us with NCR Rangers.

To be fair, he is original enough since he is the only one in this thread talking about die in the waste, only Mr. Fish have most original answer here since no one here thinking about "Doing" something to a ghoul.

I mean that dying is something that happens to EVERYONE, so it's unoriginal in that manner.
