I'd fix up a boat and go to Alaska from the west coast. I'd load up with all the military equipment I could find there and bring it south to Mexico, California, Oregon and Washington to trade. Probably look for non-radioactive waters too, so I can fish.

I wouldn't mind being a hermit, find a nice cave, take a couple of books and live out in the desert for my whole life. Maybe I'd pop into a village every now and then to buy supplies and whatnot, but that'd be it.
