What's Your Favourite Movie?

Next on the list would be the original Charade with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant.

Great film, great performances from Grant, Hepburn, James Coburn, George Kennedy and Walter Mathau, and wonderful dialogue:

Regina Lampert: I already know an awful lot of people and until one of them dies I couldn't possibly meet anyone else.

Peter Joshua: Well, if anyone goes on the critical list, let me know.

Have you ever seen Arabesque? Its directed by Charade's director, Stanley Donen, and has a similar tone. Stars Gregory Peck and Sophia Loren. Not as good as Charade, but a fun film anyhow.

My personal favorite film is Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt, though.

Other films I'm quite fond of include the original Mummy (1932), Jordorowsky's El Topo, Miyazaki's Spirited Away, Westworld, The Wicker Man, City of Lost Children, Argento's Phenomena, and probably more films than I could ever remember to list...

Also, Thunderdome didn't suck complete ass. Bartertown was cool. Those kids sucked.

Did anyone here notice that the fat trader, the one with the glass on his skull looked alot like Gizmo? Atleast i think he did.

I thought the kids and their twisted society was pretty cool, but Tina Turner sucked beyond what I believed humanly possible.

there are some pretty great films listed, but some pretty fucking awful ones.

Brazil was excellent. Citizen Kane is great (but I think overrated). Ghost Dog was ok, but over rated.

Loved Seven. I force my students to watch it every semester.

For those of you who like Full Metal Jacket, you should read the book Short-Timers. It's the basis of the film.

Liked that Dirty Debuttantes 5.

Can't say what are my favorites, but here are a few I have seen recently and liked.

The Man of La Mancha- love Sophia Lauren when she's pissed.
Shall We Dance
Bullets over Broadway- one of Woody's best.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
The Quiet American
Ran

Jesus of Montreal- for those interested in Religion.
Also, Last Temptation of Christ
And lets not forget,
Life of Brian
