Which games do you think could be made into good movies?

Ever thought about making Max Payne - The Movie? ..

Get out of there, Max Payne is a sweet movie :)

Half Life could be a decent flick, unless they added some romance bullshit. Arcanum I'd like to see for decorations' sake, but other than that, I don't believe it will happen. X-COM could be nice for an Alien Invasion themed movie, I'd also like to see a Wing Commander remake which didn't suck. Or Privateer. Or something se in that universe.

Also, they should do Fire Force for a new old-skool-Rambo-style flick, I miss those. ;)

Actually they only need focus on the main plot of PS:T.

Leaving out the side quests sure, and they might have to change out how TNO picks up the NPCs,and shorten the main quests, but im sure it could work.

Would have to be a pretty good director/script writer though. For everything. Not the standard junk.

Dune...yea.Definately.First there would be the ones based on the book series(the sequel to the actual dune),then the actual book itself. So that would be.....4 or 5 isnt it?I only read house harkonnen and atreides(couldnt find the rest).Im convinced it can be done like LOTR.

Half life is something i wouldnt want to see.To make it believable they would have to change the plot massively. The entire idea of a SCIENTIST OMGWTFPWNING this massive horde of military troops, complete with tanks and helicopters, and aliens that keep teleporting out of nowhere is a tad bit unbelievable.

The standard hollywood guy evading 20 SMG wielding henchmen would be more realistic TBH.

Half Life without Gordon Freeman? Now we can't have that, can we?

Of course not. They would have to change him into someone special though.Like the head of security or such.

Actually i think a more realistic version would be the oen based on op force....it could then be explained that gordon freeman is evading the aliens and troops instead of raping them all with his magical skills.

I could imagine a good movie loosely based off Grim Fandango. The visual style would especially lend itself well, in the right hands.
Yummy.
It should be animated of course. And feature the original cast.

Alas, the game was all but completely ignored by the general public.
I doubt that a big hollywood executive would want to spend any large amount of money on a project that has about 2% chance of profit.
Damn The Masses!

Is that the prequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey?
Sorry, couldnt resist.

Though adventure games, with their linear structure (and, in the better ones, good stories and characterization); are a bit more suited for such a conversion than other genres.

I thought that too. Pixar could do it, I think.

Speaking of Pixar, I think they could pull off a Sam & Max or Day Of The Tentacle movie, but they'd really have to 'feel' the games. That would rock my socks pretty damn hard.

I heard something about this a while ago, but Max Payne might make a pretty decent movie if directed well. Decent plot, awesome noir style, and an absolute shitload of people getting shot. Could be good, I guess. Could also be complete crap.
see Sin City.

I have seen Sin City, it made me play Max Payne again. First thing that came to mind :D

I'm pretty convinced it would make an excellent movie. As long as you found an actor who could do a decent baritone monologue, and a director who could pull off the style (not hard considering the amount of source material from the game to work with) I believe it would work well. It's probably one of the better candidates for a conversion out there.

You know,in hongkong cinema, assassin/killer movies are highly regular. It also regularly involves the triads.

The killer is either trying to quit the business(but has a rival, one last job,etc in the way) or is trying to assassinate someone difficult to kill(triad boss is most common). Its not uncommon for the killer to die in these movies.

Just curious but whats the hitman story about?

I think that bastard Uwe Boll (sp?) is looking into the rights for Hitman

Ugh.

I think SimGirl would make a damn fine flick
But seriously, Gabriel Knight, Riddle of Master Lu (Ripleys life in general), Warcraft, Far Cry and System Shock 2 all have potential.

The whole Dark Tower series would be excellent. Fallout would be nice too....like that will ever happen.

Oh crap, he's the guy who's currently busy totally fcuking up Alone in the Dark. What a bastard.

Hitman would make a cool Bourne Identity style suspense-y action movie too. What a waste.
