You're welcome! Try FIXT on second gameplay though. Despite its alpha state, it's almost bug-free mod with a handful of Sduibek's own fixes and additions, definitely worth trying for seasoned Vault Dwellers.

*many handfuls :)

:ok: I will. Thanks, again.

Not at this time, but there was talk a while back from the author of it about eventually combining the two. Who knows if it would ever actually happen, though. These mods can be a pain in the arse to work on sometimes and often burnout sets in. That has a lot to do with a lot of them from ever being finished or getting off the ground to begin with. That, and a lack of time, especially when it's one person often doing the work.

@mare6600:
Grab TeamX semi-official patch 1.2 + TeamX patch 1.3.5 and you're fine. Unlike the FIXT, TeamX patches are for bug fixing only - without any restored or new content. And you could add Hi-Res patch eventually.

man, if I'd get those 2 instead of let's say Fixt, are there chances that I'll have a more stable/crashless game compared to using Fixit which i read is in alpha? What do you suggest I get? I just want to avoid having bugs, I know there might be either way, but the less the better.

I am actually interested in this question as well. I think most people consider the usual route of TeamX etc etc that existed before I started modding, to be "crashless" generally speaking, at least personally the only time I got crashes was killing followers when equipped with Power Armor.

Whereas mine, being in development, does still get crashes with some things. I am curious if the community thinks the cool things about Fixt outweigh its higher number of crashes

Yup, I think the TeamX patches provides us with the most bugless and stable experience ATM.
Hopefully you won't give up on polishing your mod some more, Sduibek. Any bug causing CTD needs to be squashed ruthlessly, it's a rage inducing deal breaker!

Hey fellas, its been a year since i came here. So i have a very straightforward question. I've already finished fallout 1, fallout 2 RP with melee, stealth, throwing(!), dumb, Lots of the previous in ironman and whatnot. So, i think i cant play fallout again for a decade or so, i pretty much exhausted it (and i dont like FO3 and his cousins). But i still want to play. So: Any COMPLETED total mods that are recomendable? Cause i saw lots of demos and first chapters, but i couldnt find a complete one that sounded remotely good. I hope its my weak search-fu.

If that fails. any game with a similar feel to fallout? I heard the first couple of Silent hills and resident evils have a sort of similar aproach with resource management and whatnot, but i think i would miss the atmosphere. If theres nothing else, tho, i would go there.

Finally, if the above fails (or if it doesnt), i would like a few opinions on good systems for pen and paper Fallout. I DM a lot of AD&D 2e and i would LOVE to do some fallout roleplaying. I heard Gurps is a good system for fallout, altrough i've never used it. I see you have your own PnP downloads section, wich i will probably end up reading through, but for the momment being id like some general pointers of good places to start. I realize this last bit might be off topic, so if it is unpolite let me know and ill ask elsewhere.

No mods to reccomend except Megamod if you say you already finished RP. But, I can reccomend a game: Arcanum, which was made by three of the people historically involved in Fallout.

I already played Fallout 1 twice (back in 2002 & 2010) on WinXP unmodded and unpatched installed from my old disk but I can barely remember anything from both playthroughs. I'm more familiar with Fallout 2 (I played a lot with and without Restoration Project) but it's been 4 years since the last time I touched it. I plan to play it again starting this weekend with patch (with & without restored content). Even after scrounging around the forum I'm still unsure with my installation order for both games. I prefer my old disks even though I have both games at GOG. Who can resist those amazing artwork? With added rainbow color on Win7 :yuck:. You can check my list below

Fallout 1 *disk's readme said it's 1.1

[Bug-Fix only]
1. TeamX's Fallout Patch 1.2 ENG
2. TeamX's Fallout Patch 1.3.5 ENG
3. Mash's Fallout1 Hi-Res Patch v4.1.7

[Bug-Fix with restored content]
1. Sduibek's Fallout Fixt 6.7.2 FULL CUSTOM [can't wait to try this one]

Fallout 2 *as from disk's readme it's 1.02

[Bug-Fix Only]
*I only played FO2 vanilla with no patch at all since I never encountered any major bug. Do I need those
unofficial patches or go straight away with killap's patch.*
2. Mash's Fallout2 Hi-Res Patch v4.1.7

[Bug-Fix with restored content]
1. Killap's Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.3 [the last time I remember it's
the only thing I need.]

And I'd like to know if I miss something or mess with the order. Thanks.

Hey guys, I would like to install Resoration Project mod and of course resolution mod but I want to install more mods which can make game much better and especially modern/fix engine. What can you recommend?

Hi gentlemen, great work of yours!
My first post, I need badly help for Fallout 1. But I know nothing about computers and English is just my 4th language, so please forgive my mistakes.
Windows 7 Ultimate, DirectX9c, updated GOG installation.
After several trials, I got to install Fallout High Resolution Patch 4.1.8 (game works as usual with better resolution) and just downloaded Fallout 1.2.1 EN RC.rar,
Fallout 13.rar, Fallout Fixt alpha 6.7.2 Mod Full Custom and Fallout Fixt alpha 6.7.2 Patch.
But about Fallout Fixt alpha 6.7.3 just got the changelog and not the program itself and antivírus delete the Fallout Fixt alpha 6.7.3 Patch as soon as it is loaded.
Of course I want to try the mod.
So, what must I do? To keep or delete the High Resolution Patch? To install the 6.7.2 mod and patch and forget about the 6.7.3? Or is it some way to get the mod and patch 6.7.3? Are the other patches needed, it looks not?
And about the "custom" thing: can the option be made for every game to be played or just when installing? If last, can a copy of everything be kept to uninstall and reinstall?
My thanks in advance.

I cannot do anything about your antivirus deleting the files from my patch. You will need to disable your antivirus to do that. It is falsely detecting something as a virus. What is your antivirus program?

Also, if you use my mod/patch (Fixt), you don't need anything else besides f1_res (since mine doesn't have 4.1.8) If you install patches like 1.2.1 or 1.3 after installing Fixt, it will break things.

Once installed, what settings you chose during Fixt install applies to all further games.

Fixt makes a basic copy of your savegames and a couple other files in the Backup folder, but any other backups must be done yourself. Some of these questions are answered in the installer itself - it mentions backups and not installing other patches, for example.

I installed the Fixt mod which was generally great but I kept getting CTDs a lot so I've uninstalled it for the time being and just gone back to the latest TeamX patch, NPC mod and High res mod. The thing is, when my party members change armour now their heads change to the male vault dweller's. So Tycho magically grows hair and Ian gets a sudden haircut. It's a bit odd and fairly confuisng in battle to have 3 identical guys going around (we're all wearing metal armour at the moment). Now of course, Fixt kept their actual heads when it changed the armour. Is there a way I can get that back without reinstalling Fixt again? In other words, is that something Fixt itself did or is that also a standalone mod?

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I have the GOG version of these games and I wanted to make sure that the more popular mods in this forum would work the same way with GOG as the would the regular editions.

Also, I want to patch the games. In the case of Fallout 1, I'm not sure whether to incorporate FIXT or the TeamX patch. I want to play the restored content in Fixt, but I'm more concerned with playing a (mostly) bug-free game. Can I have my cake and eat it too with FIXT or do I settle for the TeamX patch?

OK, this thread has been quiet for a while...

What is the current state of the mods?

I'd like a re-run of FO2 with all the assembled whizz-bangery!

I've just finished Shadowrun Dragonfall and as much as it looked infinitely more beautiful than FO, I felt like it was a railroad.
