Which mods/patches for Fallout 1&2?

I placed the file in: fallout/data/data/worldmap.txt
The i tried in just /data/worldmap.txt
And both places whit and whiout the patch000.dat (dunno if this means anything)

master_patches=C:\Spill\Fallout\Fallout2\data

Well, you want that worldmap.txt to be in the same place as master_patches.So put it in C:\Spill\Fallout\Fallout2\data\data. If that data directory doesn't exit create it and put the worldmap.txt there.

Thanks a buch! I do not know what I did wrong the last time, but it works now :)

The 1.05 patch by Celestial, in either of its versions, already contains the b-team mod.

So you don't need to install the b-team if you have it.

Now that I did get Sulik, he did not change apperances when I gave him a Leather Armor or a L. Jacket. Is this just Sulik or does the patch not work correctly?

"Dead Enclave Guard from Klamath now has dog tags instead of the keycard"

I found a yellow keycard there.. Maby it did not install properly? I did follow the instructions and overwrite the old files :/

I have also installed the patch again and try to load my game agin whit no results.

Have I installed it right? I did follow all the instructions and such. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Hey guys,
So I recently got a craving to play through the Fallouts again and was curious if you had any mods you would recommend adding to the game? Any good mods just for bug/quest fixes? What about ones that add some content? Are there some for Fallout 1 or just 2?

Thanks a lot guys. I'm also planning on going low intelligence, any recommendations for a dumb dummy character? :)

Elan, knock it off :P

Well, a while ago I started playing with the weapons mod, where you specialize in one type of weapon and play the rest of the game with pretty much only those weapons.

Ok, I'm playing Fallout with practically only the .223 pistol, so the mod isn't really necessary... but hey, give it a try... there's a topic about it somewhere here...

hah, sorry for the wrong placement. The topic started as Suggestions for a low intelligent character but then I read your guide and saw it was already there.

So then I just changed it to mods without thinking about the section :). Sorrryy. The question still stands though :).

If you want to try a big mod try New Visions, which was made by some Russian dudes called TeamX (though thier site seems to be down). It adds new stuff like being able to be a warrior or a shaman from the start. I don't know about the warrior path, but with shamans you use your doctor skill to make drugs (ie I made some smoking weed which gives you +3% critical chance to hit, +1 perception and +1 intelligence)

Alternatively you could try the Miria mod, which I'm looking forward to. :o

That is so bogus... judging from my own experiences it should give you an agility and perception penalty...

Well, I have never done drugs of any sort so I really can't comment, but I knew (still know) someone in high school who claimed that after he started using weed he improved in his studies. (Seems far fetched though..)

Eh, I supposed it would depend on the person or whatnot, though I think it is reasonable to say at high levels of intoxication for anything intoxication would give you certain negative penalties.

I'm not sure it is specifically marijuana smoking weed, but it DOES look like a joint :P

Well, I come from Holland, so I regularly smoke pot (now don't think I'm stereotyping us dutchies) and I usually get a laughing kick first and after that I go totally lame... moving is hard, since my body isn't really reacting and focusing on something is hard... yesterday night I fell asleep during Revenge of the Sith... so it's weird you get bonuses....

Sweet, I totally agree with the way the Dutch treat marijuana (as a health topic, not a morality or a crime topic). I actually was in Amsterdam last year or so and I had a great deal of fun

I toke up fairly regularly too, though from my opinion any drug is like a vehicle. Everyone has different experiences when they go driving, depending on the reason they are driving. For me, I use it to cheer myself up and motivate myself to work, to help me sleep, or to help me relax :D But I agree, the +3% to critical hit, +1 to perception and +1 to intelligence may not be the most accurate

Would be cool though... you'd then see every student who has a test standing outside, smoking a joint... :P

But back to the topic... uhm... yeah...

I think every student is a bit of a stretch. Sometimes I smoke while I study or work on stats, but if I'm taking a test I need to be clear headed. Too easy to mix up rxns and enzymes while stoned.

Kindatopicrelated, I wonder if you'll be able to smoke grass in Gothic 3?

I did found out what it is to play Tictacs while you're character used Speed... all you have to do is give him 100 action points with the BOSCHE and he'll run around the map like crazy.

Most people are not able to work efficiently while under the influence of drugs.
Other people are only slightly handicapped by it or (depending on the work) even a bit better -- consider the various artists that drew most of their inspiration from drug-induced experiences, for example.

Driving and other reaction-based activities are usually severly impacted by recreational drugs (weed, alcohol, etc) tho, which is why drunk/drugged driving is prohibited in most countries.

Small amounts of certain alcoholic beverages (wine, mostly) are known to be beneficial for some purposes (wine improves the metabolism, or so they say), but anything more than a shot will usually have more negative effects (read: handicaps) than positive ones.

What do you mean? Still? Unless they dropped the grass in Gothic 2, because I'm pretty sure the first part had several flavours of it to recharge your mana.
