Prone Squanderer
A bit of a Sillius Soddus.
Besides, the first thing the Courier does is survive a gunshot to the head
The Courier survives two shots actually and being buried.

Not to mention that not only do the classic games protagonists travel around an area of more than 100 times to more than 200 times wider, they also travel in more "wilderness" territory. In real life FO3 covers about 520 square miles, NV covers 3,720 square miles, FO1 covers around 60,917 square miles and Fallout 2 covers roughly 126,055 square miles.
The Vault Dweller was certainly badass but he traveled with a fairly large crew of people to back him up, including confirmed badasses like Tycho. He also notably was more of a trickster figure if we're to assume he made use of speech checks and the most intelligent story-based options for dealing with the Master's threat. Profoundly capable but less a murder-machine.
Ditto the Chosen One who mostly dealt with problems via speech and less about killing people. Indeed, his greatest accomplishment of killing Frank Horrigan is probably done by turning the turrets against him versus actual fighting.
The Lone Wanderer, as the name implies, is mostly doing this all by himself and possibly with Dogmeat. Violence is also almost always the option in the Capital Wasteland. Unlike the Vault Dweller, they also pretty much are given a "destroy the Enclave" mission single-handedly in the assault on Addam's Air Force Base.
Their adventures are also much-much lengthier thanks to DLC too and the fact Fallout 3 is basically combining Fallout 1 and Fallout 2.
The Courier is almost as badass but the majority of their opponents are (probably) Caesar's tribals versus Super Mutants and Powered Armored Enclave soldiers.
Just a note, the Lone Wanderer for me is not the most badass of all the PC of the Fallout series and this is why:
He only moves around in a tiny place compared to the Vault Dweller and the Chosen One.
Not to mention that not only do the classic games protagonists travel around an area of more than 100 times to more than 200 times wider, they also travel in more "wilderness" territory.
Traveling in the ruins of a big city and it's outskirts does not compare to traveling the entirety of mostly untamed and wild wasteland 100 to more than 200 times it's size.
If being able to travel that much several times without dying doesn't make the Vault Dweller and the Chosen One more badass than the Lone Wanderer then I don't know what does.
Only if we get it, I played at least three playthroughs without getting the highwayman just to keep things interesting.Yes, but the Chosen One has a car.
Guys, I think the guy that can destroy the NCR, Reno, Vault City, Enclave and a super mutant hideout is the bad ass one.
Who is Ed again?Clearly Ed's the biggest badass.
The one Jacoren sent out before Vault Dweller.Who is Ed again?
