That in itself is a reason to launch nukes. What's funny is that Canada has about twice the land of the USA but only 1/10th the population and nearly all the population lives close to the USA border. The USA could expand north only 300 miles and it would have 90% of the population of Canada.

>I agree, don't make the canadicks
>bad guys when USA have
>the worlds largest Nuclear arsenal!

I think Russia still has the largest arsenal.. about 30,000 bombs and around 10,000 ICBMs.. now if you're talking about most advanced offense and the means to dish it out.. yeah the USA owns.

Eh Eh Eh? Ever play USA vs Canada in Starcraft? I used to play long games of that until I found the way to win 100% successful in the first 10 minutes.. kinda ruins the fun.

how about canada and u.s. join what forces are left and defend themselves from the evil russians who probably did the most damage anyway...

Well, if you count the good ol' Soviet technology (considering most of the world was on edge when they thought that the y2k was going to cause WWIII by accident)...

Chances are that any nuke that the former USSR would launch would fly straight up and drop right back down on their heads due to an engine failure. And knowing how degraded the Soviet tech has gotten over the years, they would arm themselves on impact and detonate. To quote one Bond movie, "Would make Chernobyl look like picnic..."

Mexicans

Why not have a large Mexican cult come up form the south and reclaim NCR as thier own...

Hubologists?

Just a thought it would be one hell of a treat to toast some of those mental cases. The Hubologists always seemed to be up to something "no good" anyway, so a plot to make them the main "bad guy" would be fairly easy. As to how much fun the game would be with that kind of story, I dont know.

On a more serious note they need to develop a whole new breed of enemy. I was thinking maybe take some sort of creature indigenous to earth and have them evolve to a state where they become just as intelligent as we are. I know this is similar to the deathclaws but I was thinking along different lines. Possibly take some sort of insect creature that suddenly rises up from underground with their own kind of technology (different weapons, computer like systems, vehicles, language, everything of their own creation, even their own culture ). The creatures would have to of also evolved phisically to where they do not just look like bugs, but big combat prone bastards.
The creatures could also be Sea based and come up from the coast line if people dont like the insect idea.

RE: Excuse?

No one have never EVER sen´t me an apologize for Degrassi High! I mean do you really expect me to forgive the Canadicks for what the did to me? Is that what you think? I will never forgive Canada for Degrassi HIgh before your president or King or whatever you got down there in the forgotten Realms of Canada, Do i make myself Clear?

RE: Excuse?

Uhhmmm forgott the point there didn´t I? hmmm I meant that your president or king or whatever should officially apologize for Degrassi... badass motha...

OOhhh I'm SO scared. Now I got to change my undies. (For those who didn't knew this before, that was a direct quote from the dialouge with the enclaver from the Gecko Powerplant) What list? You sound like Nixon (Another corrupted american politian). And why should I go on that list? Because I defended canadian? And Shadowman please, PLEASE don't become like Kyle's mom. Soon you won't even let us watch "Not without my anus" either.
*Under my breath, You fucking unclefucking unclefucker*

RE: Excuse?

What about an army of giant purple pickles! j/k Seriously though, why not have the Chinese manage to cross the water, or maybe play in the midwest, or east coast, that way we can have a whole new set of enemies!

RE: Excuse?

OR...it could be possible some Enclave troopers escaped from the rig in a vertibird with the remains of Frankie. When they land on(the remains of)Navarro they put Frank back together, make him even bigger, upgrade him and stuff. They'll force people to join them and now Frankie knows how strong 'muties' can be, he'll be prepared...

the enemy should be

those damn italians always crawling up our fingernails lets bomb em

The BOS gone bad!

OK, mutants, ailiens, robots and deathclaws are fine for side quests. But nobody (except them) will be upset if you kill them.

But what if you found out something really nasty about the loved and respected 'Brotherhood of Steel'?
Then you would have to either (1) Kill their corrupt leaders and be VERY impopular (since nobody belives they were crooks) or (2) Kill them 'covertly' (making it look like an accident or at least make shure nobody knows who did it) or (3) Get convinceing evidence and show it to the right people before killing them.
Of course, the game shouldn't end just after you have killed them, you have to get away with it.

Why not?

Finally Someone with a good idea!!!

You could join them during the game (make it a thirth quest, like the Enclave in Fo2, maybe your goal should be (in main quest 1) to find the BoS, so they could join the N2A (New Arroyo Alliance, wich had some 'incidents involving another faction, say, NCR (who is looking for the BoS too and will have spies and stuff prevend you from finding it first)). Once you found them (finished quest 1) you'll have to do something for them (recover something, kill someone, whatever, this would be a really big quest, quest 2). After you did you would be allowed free acces to the BoS (minus some High Security Levels) once inside a renegade BoS paladin gives you a holodisk just before getting shot (guess he found out he wasn't working for the right cause), the holodisk is a history holodisk, only without the biblical crap, telling you that the BoS (or whatever it was named at the time) was the party that caused the war, or at least found a way to have the US think China fired at it, so they'd fire back, just to cover up something (note1: China wasn't supposed to find out before it was to late.
note2: We'll save finding out what was being covered up for Fallout 4.
note 3: It doesn't have to be China.)
, but it didn't intirely succeed and now, at the HSLevels, a nuclear device is being build to finish the job. Your job, should you decide to accept it, is to stop them. If you, or any of your partymembers fail, the N2A ministry of defence will denie any knowledge of your actions. GOOD LUCK!!!
(note4: don't try the 'activate-the-nuke-inside-the-base' trick though, you're in the middle of the Wastes.)

This probably should have been titled 'Fo3 storyline', but what the he...

RE: The BOS gone bad!

How about the option of aiding one of three badly damaged factions
1./ Return BOS to its glory
2./ Refocus the Enclave on it's mutie purge
3./ Suffer mutation yourself and let muties see what they can do with/for humanity

I THINK YOU ARE ALL WRONG

I think you are all wrong.
If fallout 3 would have an "official bad guy", it would suck.
Fallout 2 and 1 had, but that's fine, as far as first-2-games go...

i want FALLOUT 3, which by the way we talk about it (and hopefully in reality) would be much bigger, and very different from 2 and 1...

I want there to be NO "official bad guy".

A good game has BASIC GOAL(S), and a challenge.
There more challenge and things to make it harder for you to complete your goal(s), and the MORE goals you have, the BETTER THE GAME IS.

Bad-guys are just the plain and standard way to do this.

But it doesn't have to be that way.
The world doesn't REALLY have "bad-guys". it is unrealistic.
It all depends in the POINT OF VIEW...
Being humans which claim to have moral values, and follow basic laws of democratic countries, we consider MURDERERS, THIEVES, RAPISTS and so on, "evil people" or "bad people"... and sometimes even "psychopaths" or "sick people"...

but each one of them is a perfectly normal bunch of atoms, organized in the shape of a living organism we call HUMAN.
They have no spirit, and there is no "DEVIL" or hell...

IT'S US, our point of view, our system of law and order, and THE MORAL CODES WE INVENTED, that makes them the "evil, sick, bad..."
Except for PSYCHOPATHS, whose motives are PSYCHOLOGICAL, which means, basically BIOLOGICAL, all others motives are much simpler.

A non-psychotic murderer murders because he wants to murder, or forced to do so.
A thief is even more simple, as he steals to have money, so he can have a normal life/better life/more drugs, sex, or whatever.

Although even the bad-guys in Fallout had some sort of realistic motive, and they weren't like in little kids movies, such as POKE'MON where THE ROCKET TEAM is considered bad, although they merely try to get the same things ASH DOES.
But as the makers of the TV show made it very clear, obvious and CERTAIN that Ash and his friends are the DEFINATE, ONLY, AND SUPER good guys, anyone oposing them is automaticly a bad-guy.
So even if ash makes a mistake, A MAN that will punish him for that, or will oppose him, will be considered a bad-guy in that show...

But still, fallout declared them "THE BAD GUYS" or the "guys you MUST fight in order to win the game"
i don't want to see this.
There are no automatic foes.
A foe is only your enemy depending on WHO YOU ARE.

If you a guy who wants to kill mutants, and thinks the people on the west coast are digusting scums, and only you, and the ENCLAVE are pure, then you can team-up with the enclave - in theory.
In the game it wasn't like that.

I don't want to see an "against-everyone-automatic-must-be-killed-in-order-to-win enemeies in Fallout 3.

the "good guys" WILL BE your enemies, if you take the "dark path" of crime, unkindness, and self-interest.

And then again, you can even be against BOTH SIDES... and even MORE AGAIN - there aren't 2 sides...
the people make their sides.
Arroyo can decide it doesn't like any other people, or just the people in NCR... or whatever...
The SIDES are created by the people.
You can either JOIN any of them, be AGAINST all of them, or try to MAKE A NEW SIDE (if that option would be given)...

This is what is called REALISTIC.

This way, anyone can be your enemy.
There is no "my enemy's enemy is my ally" rule here.

HOW ABOUT HIM? N/T

computers

I think that the computer (robots) should be the enemy. I was amazed by the story of the computer in San Fran (BoS computer) and how much sense it all made. It said that the computers got so advanced that they started to get feelings. And what would be the feelings of a person if it were treated like a machine? Depression, Hate… That computer said that it might be true that the computers started the war. How about in F3 the computers want revenge. Maybe Skynet from the Sierra Army Depot could be the leader, and they have several different bases. Maybe we could mix cities from F1 and F2 in F3. Like the Glow and it’s computer.

I think it should be someone else. Having the deathclaws or mutants would be the same. I say have Satan be the boss, nah that would be wierd, either humans, aliens(scary evil demonic ones with 9 inch teeth, not E.T.), or giant mutated parisite monsters that feed on humans, but must be smart, very smart.

RE: Aliens...

When you travel at the world map south-west of Redding, you can se this BIIIG F***ING Crater.
And the enemies that you run across there are 90 % Wanamingos.
So I'm pretty sure they're aliens.
