But I think the real ownage is Marcus. A sh**load of AP
an HP. Give him a Pulse or - if you have a small party - a Bozar
and see him hosing down the hood.

And mowing you down with a burst in the back.

Never happened to me. As I stated, keep your parties smaller!
And work on your positioning!

No no no... just tell him not to hit you and he wont, but the thing his he will still blow away your other npc's that are in his way :(

Well in FO2 I only use 3 party members...rarely 4 at max (Shades and Mentats).

I never had problems with Marcus that way.

I pick them all up individually and leave them in san fransico, I only use them when I need some portable storage (The car always screws up for me). Although, I tend to keep the dogs with me most of the time.

My favorite Buddy is tha good ol Bad Luck Dog :D. This Guy Kicks butts when you are a meele fighter!

Set him to charge. It's that easy, he'll just walk up to a person as if he were about to use a melee weapon and rip them to shred up close. Less damage spread amongst enemies, but no friendly fire either

Fallout 1: My original Ka-tet was Ian, Tycho, Katja and Dogmeat.

Fallout 2: Sulik, Cassidy, Vic and Marcus... plus Skynet, if I can get him.

Of course you can find Dogmeat in FO2, just that he will stop following you once you leave the area!

I like every NPC that I fight alongside with, especially Sulik and Cassidy because Sulik is the 1st NPC I ran into and Cassidy is kinda dragged into the mud by the player. Myron, Vic, K9 and Skynet are not bad either

K-9.

He knocked people off their feet all the damn time, letting me have that much of an easier shot upon them. He also was a smartass, which in a dog I find endearing, and hence why he didn't get an acute case of "plasma in your face +5".

Dogmeat was my favorite in Fallout. Such an awesome dog. I love the dogs I have in real life, but I want a dog like Dogmeat.

In Fallout 2, Cassidy is my favorite? How do you get Marcus though? Vic's just about used all his usefulness, plus it's be nice to have him arond. I'm using Goris, Vic, and Cassidy right now. Sulik had to hit the can because Goris was a better Melee, but now I need a heavy weapons guy if I am to stand a chance in hell against those pesky Enclave!

As for Cassidy's heart condition, I have never had a problem with him dying because of it. The only way I am aware of to get him to die of it is to allow him any drugs or stimpaks. If he needs healing during combat, I make sure to have some of those healing powders you get in the beginning of the game handy. It's a real shame to have to use those because of the loss of perception really huts his shooting, but if he's got the shotgun equiped he has to get close to attack anyway so it's not real loss. Otherwise I heal with Doctor and First Aid outside of battle. Especailly do NOT give him Psycho, Jet, or Super Stimpaks, they seem to randomly kill him upon taking those. You can probably get away with a stimpak or two but I wouldn't try your luck, I'd just keep him in the back with a good rifle instead.

Strange, I always give him tons of stipacks and super stims and he never died because of them.

It is a random chance whenever you take something. Maybe you were just lucky. I've had Cassidy die on me 3 times though just on regular Stimpacks. Super Stims seem to be a lot more common to cause his death, although Stims you can probably pump him a few and he'll be alright.

funny, I allways pumped ol' Cas full of stims...

you're thinking about thet dog in Klamath, to get Dogmeat you have to get the cafe of broken dreams encounter, then feed Dogmeat with an "iguana-on-a-stick"(or any other food), then he'll follow you to the death...

Yeah, I too used a shitload of Stim
packs on Cassidy.... So He can't die from them, methinks.
If it were random it would have killed it long time ago....

Marcus's my favorite. Of course, you may have some problems with his habit to kill your teammates :) , but I always gave him a turboplazma rifle. So NP.
And I can't understand why lots of people like Cassidy. He has TOO courageous, and so is often killed. I don't have enough patience to load game every time.

I'm pretty sure he can't die on stims, I think he says as much himself. There might be a small chance, though, never happened to me.

All other drugs, including super stims, kill outright in my experience. Not sure about Rad-X and RadAway, though, I think he survives those. It'd make sense if he did, it's not like those pump up the heartrate like Jet, BuffOut or Psycho do.

I think you're thinking of the beef jerky dog in Klamath. Dogmeat can be found in a random encounter, the Cafe of Broken Dreams, and will follow you faithfully.

Cassidy is a second best favorite in Fo2 (first being dogmeat, for the shear fact that one time he criticaly hit frank horrigan in the groin for 997 hit points), I pump cassidy fulla stims and super stims all the time, hell, he does it to himself all the time. Only problem I aver had with him was phyco, for some reason whenever i put it on him to mule it, he just had to use it in the first round of combat and die. I remember giving him, vic, and skynet pancors, then having to reload over and over cause they kept blowing eachother away. Dogmeat is the bestm in my opinion, dog npc in the game, no matter what per's walkthrough says about him, as he survived much longet than k-9 did agains supermutant/enclave/floaters/homelesspeople encounters. As for the spouses, I just shot mine after getting hitched, then watched as grisham had a heart attack.
