Hi guys
Well its like how Brother None and Sorrow said it.
Most of the dislike about Fallout 3 or perhaps Bethesda in general is expressed in anger towards the company, even I myself am guilty of that.
Though I find it quite understandable, despite what the magazines have said Bethesda has never really tried to find out what the fans wanted who have kept the interest in the series, or this kind of Roleplaying Games alive.
They simply took the name and sticked it on something that is quite different from it, "Because that is what they do best."
But what I dislike the most about Bethesda and the game magazines is how they portrayed some of the die hard fans, not just minority that is the rabid anger spewing types, but also the fans that do want to discuss matters in a polite.
And yes, in some way they have spread the message that if you don't like Bethesda's Fallout 3 you are not a Fallout fan after all, "Because they got the spirit right."
As some better spoken than me made clear, the setting is not any longer something of an opinion, "As long as they have the setting right it is Fallout."
It is a part of the whole, take that out and you might as well throw it away.
Hi Sorrow,
Yeah from what you and others told me about Tim Cain's plans there were some very interesting ideas planned for RPG settings.
Personally I would really like to see a Buck Rogers' space setting for an RPG, its really very different from a Star Trek or Star Wars like setting we see in most games.
The time travel one also sounded fun.
