I just spotted this edit. What I mean by a spam thread is a thread where people post sequentially (or worse, cyclically) with information or distilled or implicit opinions on some topic but without offering any personal input or analysis. It's never ever going to be of any use to me to know what game boxes user X has on his shelf somewhere. It's never going to be of use to poster X if I post back to say "wooo my collection looks a bit like yours". If he were to post a few lines on each game and his personal experience with them, that might at least make for vaguely amusing reading and/or serve as recommendations.

The avatar ranking thread is essentially a spam thread. I would even prefer if people used it to just shout out that they got a new avatar and invoke the occasional "wooo pretty", compared to the current über-bland "I already ranked yours well it's still good 9/10". The "what are you listening to" thread is almost pure spam. Threads like "your favourite Fo2 weapon" usually are or become spam threads. Obviously we don't trash them automatically, but as long as there's actually a way to add content to a thread that is clearly preferable.

Heh, there used to be a sealed Wasteland on Amazon for around $180. Now there is a used, but still complete one for $150.

Even if I could afford it, I couldn't get it as it only ships to those damn USA-rians.


My collection isn't even worth mentioning, me being from a post-communist, pirate haven country which goes under the name of Romania.
I only recently started to build it from Ebay, some local trading forums and shops.
Right now my gem is a complete Torment (poster, manual etc.) which is the more awesome UK version, with an old style 2 pieces box and jewel case for the CDs. Now, this goes for some very unaffordable prices too on Ebay, but I got it as a real bargain from one of those local forums I mentioned, for only $26.


P.S. Oracle, I'm very curious to see the rest of your collection. I understand you posted only the RPGs, but I assume you have other games too?
 
the probleme with Wasteland is that when you want to find it on ebay you always get these "Tony Hawk Wateland" shit !

Indeed, it wasn't easy to locate and buy for a normal price.

Regarding pictures, well I don't have a digital camera but I could borrow one from school.
Problem is, I don't know how to put them online.

It's a very impressive collection. Seeing it makes me miss the good old times :( .
