Your favorite childhood video game.

Ah...I just found one of my old text adventure games...Guild of Thieves, ah yes...those where the days... without 3D graphic cards, sounds and such...

Wasteland... anybody?

me me me! :D but that was a loooong time ago. i recently downloaded Wasteland from an abandoware site and i'll play it again as soon as i have time. i can mail it to you if you want.

I've never played Wasteland but since i joined here i've heard a lot about it. I havn't seen it in any of the games shops around where i live. Do you know where i could find a copy or possibly down load it?

Thanks

Remember guys, we don't distribute pirate warez here. So please don't talk about it. We could get in trouble for it..

Sorry to be a party pooper, but that's how it is..

You forgot Sonic Spinall, sport.

Well my favourite childhood games? Let me think a second...

-Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millenium
-Final Fantasy III
-Final Fantasy II
-Earthworm Jim 1 & 2
-Mortal Kombat 1 & 2
-Sonic 1, 2, 3 (Knuckles was ghey)
-Legend of Zelda
-Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
-Street Fighter 2: Turbo (SNES)
-Ogrebattle
-Ninja Gaiden
-Megaman 1, 2, 3

I could go on, but those are the first games I thought of. I think I spent the most time on the RPG's mentioned (mainly PSIV... what a good game).

Sometimes I get nostalgic and load up my emulators to play some of these old games... ah well.

Regards,
PB2K

wasteland is abandonware, so it's (almost) legal to distribute it.

so, if anybody wants Wasteland, let me know and i will mail it to you. the game is fairly small in size. i currently have C64 version, so you'll need some kind of emulator to play it. i have a PC version (with slightly better graphics) somewhere, but i have no idea where :P

I wish Wasteland was true abandonware, but actually it isn´t. EA still has the rights to Wasteland and asked a few sites to remove it.
Having said that, trying the game is allways a good idea ;)

I did buy wasteland again a couple of years ago on the INterplay 10th anniversary compilation.
Basicaly all their good games before they sold out, back then they would put the emphasis on the game not on the graphics.

Atari:
Defender
Venture
Asteroids

Commodore 64:
Beach Head (only game we had for it)

NES:
Final Fantasy
Castlevania

Genesis:
Phantasy Star I
Phantasy Star II
Sword of Vermillion
Warrior of Rome II
Populous

Super NES:
Legend of Mana (I think that was the name)
Final Fantasy II

PC:
Wolfenstein
Xwing

Anything else would be considered my favorite "adult" games, though some might question whether or not I'm an adult now

hey, Tone Capone, tell me about your avatar. which game is it from?
That, my furry friend, is from the classic arcade game named "Metal Slug". I used to play that for hours with a couple of friends while our parents would be in the bar drinking... You can get the "updated" version on Plastation format called "Metal Slug X". Check it out sometime...

Heh, did you catch the parody game of metal slug over at Newgrounds? The main character goes crazy and decides to go on a killing spree in the metal slug (tank).

You can check out some more about Metal Slug at this site. Gosh, that brings back the memories...

On second thought, this should have been on my list earlier, but like I said I had just had a long trip...

hey

metal slug is from SNK and was developed for the diehard NeoGeo, metal slug 2, x, 3, and 4 which was released last year are it's sequels. Go to www.neo-geo.com if you want to learn about the legend of NeoGeo.
