Zombie Apocalypse- Intermission & Ideas for the future

That's Rawls from the Wire, my current favorite TV show. He's crooked and nasty. I liked Dukes of Hazard Cooter for Earl because I suspect that Cooter was evil. The Niomi Watts pic is from King Kong.

I also suspect that Samantha is actually Zoe in real life. Her Jimmy looks very Brazilian to me.

Charlie Moon's pic is an actor who has played Indians in Dances with Wolves, Northern Exposure, Thunder Heart and even Maverick.

To answer Steve-

Yes, we'll be running Chapter 2 here for now. I am actually curious to see how it goes. You folks have a lot of issues to work out- not the least of which is a lot of wounded people. Eventually the campaign here will probably crap out on its own, but I think we should run it as long as you guys want to. Chap 2 is pretty clear. Chapter 3 will depend on what you guys do here.

On play@yog-sothoth.com, we probably won't start for a few months yet. I have a lot of research to do.

I recognize alot of the faces; Black and his assistant being from sniper; Justin Hockey being from Platoon; and so forth. I would like to find a different picture for Hockey though. (Idk about the 50-75 green fatigues. Manuel is a good pic though. Digging the M.I.L.E.S gear )

Find a pic then and we'll post it up. Looks like we lost one already. Damn.

Hey Handy- I found a pic for Mrs. Foo. Hope you like.

Yes, I like Mrs. Foo's picture.

Much of the time, when you see a box with a red X instead of a picture you can right click on it and select "Show Picture" from the menu. Sometimes that doesn't work, though. One good way to avoid losing a picture is to host it at http://imageshack.us (it's free). You can copy the picture, paste it into Paint, and save it (JPG or PNG format works well and doesn't take up much space). Then follow the instructions on Imageshack's page to upload and host it. The resulting page even gives you the code in Img tags to copy and paste into a post. Imageshack hosts images indefinitely and doesn't delete them (Photobucket might).

Firefly was excellent; it's a shame it only got one season. I'm not sure if I'll have time until Monday to find a good picture of Jayne for Airman Lewis, but if I don't Welsh might get one first. I don't expect to be online much for the rest of the weekend, as my sister's wedding is tomorrow and I'm very busy. I'll see what I can do now. I should be able to swap in the new picture for Justin Hockey in a minute or so - if the link ever fails, it might need to be rehosted on Imageshack.

EDIT: I found one of Jayne in a uniform from the episode Ariel and updated the photos. If you want a different one, let me know.

You guys! What's wrong with the characters from Sniper for your sniper crew?

Stompie - please resize the picture.
Steve- if you have a Jayne picture you'd like to use, post it here.

I am with Handy- lots of things to do this weekend and I won't get to this until next week.

because using images from Sniper reminds everyone how suckass and untruthful the movies were?

Grumble grumble-
Ok, done.

Hey, no one gets to change Zoorie Spooner because she is totally bone-able.

Thanks, guys. The wedding was great, and the weather cooperated perfectly, especially considering it was mid-December.

We're coming up with some good plans and ideas for what's ahead. I'm thinking that we can finalize character selections in the next ten days. If nobody changes their minds by Friday the 29th, then the choices will be locked in and secrets will be sent out. Does this sound good to everyone? If so, then I can write the initial post for Chapter 2 during that long weekend - I get out of work early that Friday and have off from work on Monday, January 1. Once that's posted I'd say that anyone who wants to post for the first round may do so, though I intend to wait until the middle of the first week of January before the plot is updated again (unless every player posts sooner).

Yep, yep.... Good thinking. Time to kick start the game back into gear. I just sent a heads up to Caribe- maybe we can get him to join.

Suaside, as an old roleplayer, maybe you can send him a kind word to convince him.
Did Fearless make mention?

I belive that is my que. :D I look forward to playing this with everyone. I have read the story and only have two questions.
WHY BUDDY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
and for the rolls will I have to set it up on the site we are using?
If at any time you find I'm not that good of a role player please tell me and/or kill off my character.

Welcome, Fearlessfred! To answer your questions:

1) I didn't want Buddy to die either. I tried to give him every chance I could get away with so he could survive. First Lynne missed what should have been a decent shot even for someone without training, then she blew her Luck roll, then the random 1d4 I rolled chose Buddy as the unlucky one hit, then Buddy missed his Dodge roll, then I even allowed Buddy a Luck roll and he missed it too, and finally too many stray bullets hit him and did too much damage. The cause of Buddy's death is the answer to the second question...

2) We roll dice at Invisible Castle. It keeps a permanent record of all rolls ever made, provided you use a character name instead of "no one" or "test" (you can go ahead and make some practice rolls using those names). The site is easy to use and you don't have to register or anything. Just click "Roll Dice" and roll away! When you're actually rolling for your characters, you should be sure to use the same spelling for their names every time to make it easier to search for their rolls. If you need help we can give you some pointers. Usually you will be rolling 1d100 against a skill, but some things such as weapon damage and Sanity loss will have different dice rolled. Often you will roll your own character's skills, stats, and damage caused in combat. On occasion we Keepers may roll for you in the interest of keeping the story moving and the players in suspense. You may, for instance, see us make a Luck roll for one of your characters and never know what it was for (unless perhaps you happen to fail the roll, in which case it may be obvious). We will also roll for NPCs and monsters. Our rolls are open too, and we post the links to them on Invisible Castle just like the players do - but this means we can't fudge any rolls to help you out.

The Call of Cthulhu rules we use are simple for the most part. The rules and guidelines thread at http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19252 will give you some information specific to this game, and the first post there has a link to http://www.chaosium.com/article.php?story_id=87 where you can find Quick Start rules for Call of Cthulhu. Welsh also has made PDFs of the rules you're most likely to use that you can ask him to email to you if you haven't already.

We're not going to kill off your characters if you need any guidance roleplaying, but we're always here to help if you need us. If any of your characters die, it's simply because this is a very dangerous and lethal game - that's why you start with three of them. As you've seen from the story, the death toll can get quite high and on average the players have lost one character each so far. Right now you've got Sergeant Sam Black reserved. Stompie still has Justin Hockey and Manuel Ortega, so you might want to start thinking about which of the other characters you want. You may take your other two characters from the new group that arrived from Warren Air Force Base, from the group of characters that was already at the T-Bone, or one from each. You may choose any characters that have not already been claimed by someone else. Later Welsh or I will send you the secrets for your characters.

@Welsh- It would be great to get Carib FMJ on board. I liked his writing in Systematic Annihilation. There are some characters I think he'd enjoy playing.
