Zombie Apocalypse- Intermission & Ideas for the future

I haven't forgotten, Steve. You've got McCain, as well as Lewis, Jim, and Alice. Five of the new characters have been claimed, but there are still eleven of them to choose from. Lereux and Malone are played by the Keepers, but there are plenty of other interesting characters. We still also have over twenty characters from the original group still available, though some aren't in the best physical and mental health at the moment.

Don't worry Fearless, if you really stink we'll kill you quickly.

:)

As for Caribe- sorry to say he bowed out. Oh well.

Again, my advice is to take less combat prone and more interactive characters, at least one.

Our campaign will kick off as the last one ended- the helicopters are leaving.

Incidently, your sanity bonus will be the last you receive for a long time. Sorry, you guys have overcome the initial shock of attack and have accustomed yourself, to some extent, to the new world. But from here on in, it's none stop Trench warfare and you can expect no more relief.

Skill bonuses- we'll discuss.

Otherwise, I am gone for the next week or so.

I would think carefully about what your characters should be doing next. The military group's mission is fairly simple- to take control of the comm station and keep it secured for the forseeable future.

For the T-Bone survivors, well there are lots of issues for you guys.

I agree with Welsh's advice. There are plenty of specialized characters that will have more interesting things to do than the grunts. Fearless, you might also consider taking at least one character from the T-Bone group since you've read the first chapter. By having characters in both groups, you'll have more things to do. If any other new players join, they will also have more characters from the Warren group to choose from in case they haven't read it.

A new player who hasn't read Chapter 1 could still pick characters from the T-Bone group that have had little to no involvement in the main story. Kerry is one possibility, though she needs to come out of her insanity before she can do much. There are also the two State Troopers who arrived in Brownson - Joe Barring and Erica Spears. They haven't been to the T-Bone yet and don't know much about what happened there.

John, the retired supervisor I worked with, stopped in again today. He's been too busy to check the site out so far, but he's still interested and he might have time to join us soon.

Yes, Joe Barring is still available. You can play him if you like. He's currently riding shotgun in Baldwin's truck, which has just left Brownson.

Okay, you've got him reserved. You still have a third character slot open. Character decisions will be finalized next Friday, the 29th. At that point we'll send out secrets for everyone's characters. Anyone who hasn't selected all of their characters can still add more after that point; it just means you can't swap out any you've already chosen.

Handy-
If he's interested he can join- no problem.

Fearless- I love Joe! The inspiration for Joe baring is actually Stephen Hunters, Earl Swaggart- another state trooper.

That said, I still think Ramirez or one of the medical people are among the best choices.

If you want to play Joe no problem.
I do agree about Ramirez. I was thinking about picking him but I do not know any Spanish.

You don't need to know any Spanish to play Ramirez; it's enough that the character knows it. If he ever has to understand anything in Spanish, we'll type its meaning in English. I don't know Chinese, but I played the Foos just fine. Whenever they said something in Chinese, I just wrote that they said it in Chinese. Ramirez also has excellent English skills. At 76%, he speaks it fluently and is even better than most native English speakers. Ramirez is yours if you want him.

Glad to see you here, Carib! Thanks for providing the links Stompie. Both the new and the original characters are listed in this thread: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19267
(the original characters are in the first post, and the new ones are in the last post). I'll list the remaining available characters here:

New characters from Warren AFB:
Airman Alexandria Mikhailin - Communications Specialist
Lt. Angela Blanco - US Army Medical Research and Development Command, US Army Research Institute for Infectious Disease
Zorie Spooner - Researcher
Airman Bobby Sheen - #2 on the Sniper team
Airman Steve Phillips - Medic
Airman Igor Malanowski
Corporal Ian Cole - Fire Team 1
Airman Carlos Duran - Fire Team 1
Corporal William Alanen - Fire Team 2
Airman Bruce Thayer - Fire Team 2

Original Characters:
Rosie the Waitress
Mitchell the Young Artist/current mechanic
Lynne - Dumb but hot Waitress with criminal ambition
Max the Mastiff
Ms. Foo - wife of Mr. Foo and co-owner of Motel 8 age 71
Mr. Foo - Motel 8 owner with unusual past. Age 72 (With a HK MP-5 and a samurai sword!)
Ellen Cody - House keeper- at Motel 8
Sally the Traveling Nurse
Jim - the runaway
Bo - Bored State Trooper
Baldwin - the conspiracy theorist/Truck driver
Randall the Law student/Ex med student
David the horny Truck Driver
Samantha the Zoologist (One of the best shooters in the group)
Jenny Cooper - Lab assistant
Gary the Maintenance man
Kimberly the Pharmacist looking for a job (edit welsh- actually undercover and 'bitten' DEA agent investigating the T-Bone/PMS drug connection)
Azadeh Samimi - Engineer on the Road (with some awesome combat skills. Alive but badly wounded)
Erica Spears - State Trooper Helicopter Pilot/Medevac Pilot
Dr. Brigetta Hausman MD - Lost member of Center for Disease Control and Prevention- Yes, I think we can release this character now
Stephanie Bridges - Environmental Protection Agency - co-worker with Dr. Hausmann
Kerry (Currently teetering on sanity)

Gonzalez was playing Willie and Michael Walters. I've been holding them for him in case he returns, but if he does not then they will be available as well.

Playing most of the original characters require knowledge of the events of Chapter 1, though not in Kerry's case. Erica Spears also has little knowledge of the first chapter's events.

You can post which characters you want to reserve when you're ready - decisions won't become final until Friday. You should choose three characters. Some players are playing four, but this will require additional time and work to write for all of them. I've been sick for the past week and haven't been able to post much, but I'm starting to do better and should be able to write the initial post for Chapter 2 on Sunday or Monday. The next plot update will probably be a few days after that.

Handy, if you want to delay the game a bit more, that's fine. I am off till the 15th and we've been kind of out of touch the past week or so.

Thanks for the concern, guys. I'm fine with starting Chapter 2 in the next few days. I'm feeling a lot better tonight, and I'm going to be off from work until Tuesday, which gives me time to prepare and write.

Mr. Foo, Ms. Foo, Bo, and Stephanie were originally my characters. I've been a Keeper for the past two months, though, so these characters are available if anyone else really wants to play them. I enjoy writing for them and will gladly continue to do so should nobody else take them. I do have a soft spot in my heart for them, but they're just as mortal as everyone else - Mr. Foo almost died a couple of times late in Chapter 1, and was very lucky to survive.

lo carib.

hey handy & welsh, got some comments on your chars:

Airman Nathanial Lewis & Airman Alexandria Mikhalin: i dont care how much of a tech or math wizz you are. i doubt the USAF will send you into the field against zombies with nothing but a peashooter... maybe give them an smg or something?

Airman Bobby Sheen: he has the same pistol (M9 & 92) listed twice at different skill%.
it also makes no sense that the spotter with a light M24 only gets a 9mm peashooter, while the main sniper that lugs around a 1.5m long rifle gets an extra assault rifle & huge pistol. might i suggest a decent backup gun for good ol' Bobby? (shotty, carbine or smg)

as for my char, i might take Corporal William Alanen (or perhaps Corporal Ian Cole). atm i'm not interested in taking a bigger load, i'm going for my two live chars + one to replace my dead char

Yeah give Lewis a bigger gun so he can kill kill kill his way to being killed killed killed. Oh but do me a favor, do not get him anyway near crazy lady who should not be shooting guns but who kills dogs for kicks!
