Someone finally painstakingly beat Fallout 4 without killing anything

I realy don't think it counts, since he simply uses other NPCs to do the killing. From the pictures you can see the loathing on his face due to save scumming:grin:

He spent 5 hours to pickpocket Kellogg's brain augmenter...

Though some people shamelessly present this case as proof of F4 allows player freedom...

Well if you wanted to waste hours of your life on this shit instead of playing good games then that's cool. I agree with Innerfish, they still have NPCs killing them though especially if they're using companions. I consider a pacifist playthrough without bloodshed.

“I’d love to ask [Todd Howard why pacifism is so difficult in this Fallout,” Hinckley told me in an interview.

“I’m a little disappointed in the lack of diplomatic solutions in this game, it’s a lonely departure from the rest of the Fallout series,” Hinckley said.

"Hinckley says that he felt sad when he found out how much Fallout 4 focused on combat—it made him feel like the developers forgot about about players like him, who have stuck with the series for a long time. In a way, Hinckley saw his no-kill playthrough as a way of showing the world that he refuses to be forgotten."

Hmm. Reminds me of some folks I know.

Hey nice article, shows that with some gargantuan effort, some cheating on the side and the willingness to die three times you can make Fallout 4... even more boring?

Heh you can just play games like Deus Ex 1 and play as a pacifist without killing anyone which doesn't require wasting even more hours of your life just to make sure people don't die.
They might need to apply ice to that burn.

What burn...

The only burning I see is of heretics who dare question the Fallout series... I mean Emperor's might!

Hmm... thank you then.

EDIT: Emperor protect you.

It shows how much of the role playing has gone down the gutter with Bethesda ...

The start is easy. Everything that comes afterward, though, is a trip. Most of the XP granted in Fallout 4 comes from combat. That’s not an option for Hinckley, though, so he starts the game out by focusing on settlements. He builds the same structure over and over again, dozens of times, to grind out enough experience to get to level ten—which is high enough to have some of the basic, necessary perks required for a no-kill run. This is as excruciating as it sounds, especially when you consider what little XP building stuff grants you in the first place.

You know, in Fallout 1 and 2, you just chose to get the skills you wanted, like spech, inteligence, outdoorsman to avoid combat, or what ever non-combat skills you wanted to have. You do quest. You get EXP. Level ups. And spend them where ever you want.

Now, in Fallout 4, you don't chose. You Grind.

Don't believe it? Take a look at this suggestion, how to get the really good armor in F4.

Farming Legendaries
While it’s possible to get Legendary gear from vendors, including your own settlement vendors, purchasing pieces is pretty damn expensive. Most of your legendary gear will likely come from Legendary enemies, which spawn randomly during your encounters out in the wasteland.

Here’s the thing about Legendaries: You can farm them. There are a few spots where you can farm, but here’s my favorite. The National Guard Training Yard. You’ll want to note this down, as it’s a location that’s useful even if you’re not going to farm legendaries.

Is this what people find fun in their single player games?

This information will become useful when Zenimax releases Fallout online.

Meh, Bethesda should simply finally come out of the closet, and admit that they are making first person shooters (including the Elder Scrolls).

Fallout has become nothing more than a grind to farm the best "legendary" weapons and armors. Nothing more than a game to write grinding/farming guides about. I can't see how people can say "but aren't you glad everyone else likes it?", no I can't because they beat that name into the ground then took a dump on it.

I like how Underrail has classic XP and Oddity XP. Classic gives you XP for doing quests, using skills(eg. Lockpicking) and killing while Oddity gives you XP for finding these strange items(sorry hard to explain). It discourages from kill grinding and allows you to focus on builds that don't involve killing enemies to gain levels for example.

I'm sort of curious to see what DLCs they're going to shit out for Fallout 4. I'm having a feeling it'll be something with aliens and wacky stuff.

They wrote themselves into a corner eliminating any real faction oriented DLC, except with the Minutemen, so i suspect rogue minutemen.

What's sad to me is how many people are going to view this as "a weird stunt" and not the video game analogue of something a lot of tabletop roleplaying game players gravitate to naturally. That is to say, if the party is beset by bandits, guards, etc. a lot of the time the party will try to talk their way out of it before weapons get drawn. That video games nominally titled "roleplaying games" don't seem interested in providing tools to avoid combat (not even all the time, just some of the time is enough) is continually disappointing to me.

It is as a pacific playthrough as Operation Barbarossa. Von Kluge, von Manstein, Guderian and co didn't fired a single shot during the campaign.

It's hilarious that he had to xp farm with the settlement building. Even the most inane MMORPG is more exciting than this.

Who says they wouldn't just create new factions in a DLC? I'm picturing a faction that thinks they're werewolves like that Fallout 3 vampire faction.
The Minutemen are so dull that I doubt they'd ever get a dedicated DLC to themselves. They seem like annoying wasted potential.
