FALLOUT 4 IS GREAT ALL YOU GUYS SUCK [Question]

Like the title, I've always wondered why this website attracts one-time users that post threads like this. I've also always wondered why this website can't change its reputation from a "biased, vile, toxic landfill" to "place that isn't hated".

Please don't take offence in this, I'm simply trying to understand the culture of this site.

Basically, all I'm asking is why this website can't change its reputation.

Why don't people that join a website read posts that are copy paste to theirs and read the response before posting?

This website isn't going to change its reputation. It's really as simple as that. Most of the people here are very critical of the games we play. Most of us take established lore in games very seriously. We're what casual gamers would call "nerds" because of how much time we put into loving video games, reading lore, appreciating worlds, and so on and so on.

People don't like NMA because it took a dump on FO3 when it came out. A lot of people, myself included, were young and didn't think FO3 was that bad. For a lot of gamers, FO3 was their first open world experience besides Oblivion. That includes me as well. We all collectively sucked Bethesda's dick and refused to let go. To put FO3 in perspective, I was 13 when that game came out. I'm 20 years old now. So when we, this new generation of "RPG" players, saw NMA bashing FO3, we promptly called them out as cynical old farts who were too attached to PC games from the 90s.

I wasn't really a part of that last crowd, but I probably would have defended FO3 to death back in the day. Soon after FO3 though, I played New Vegas. Then I played the original FO games. And I've never looked back. In fact, nowadays I can't even replay FO3, it's that bad to me. Yet I've managed to sink 500 hours into New Vegas.

So I guess to answer your question, the reason why this website has its reputation is a lot of people hated how they bashed FO3, and the reputation has stuck in their minds. Now those same people who hated this site for bashing FO3 hate this site for bashing FO4, alongside an entirely new generation of people waiting in line to suck Bethesda's dick.

I hope I made a good enough analogy for you.

I'm not asking about the why of the websites reputation.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my question, let me add to it further:
* Who caused the website to get this reputation?
* What is the purpose of having a divide between Fallout fans?
* Did the reputation evolve over a while, or did it suddenly change when Fallout 3/4 hit?

I've been observing this place for while now, and I want to hear from the users who use it.

Because Bethesda started to make really piss poor 'RPG' games.
Fixed it for ya ;)

Who caused the website to get this reputation?
Bethesda/new RPG fans and, NMA users like Roshambo who were genuinely hateful towards Fallout 3 fans.

The first 2 Fallouts and New Vegas are vastly different to the spin off series that Micro Forte, Interplay and, Bethesda's cultivated throughout the years.

The reputation suddenly changed with the release of Fallout 3 and then slowly evolved throughout the years.

Thank you, that's exactly the sort of answer I wanted.

Boy, Arnie's really trying to recapture his old fame now isn't he? I guess he did kinda shoot himself in the foot media-wise when that whole fling with his employee came to light. Still it's sad how one of the greatest actors of the last couple of decades has been reduced to saying his old movie lines on Youtube.

I don't think he really has much to worry about, he did become Governor and he is know world wide.

You know it'd be pretty cool if this became the Schwarzenegger thread.

Edit: I'm also very glad that this was my 400th post.
