"Fallout 3 is Garbage, And Here's Why", video by hbomberguy

Presentation. This guy must work a lot on presentation and his voice. Or he'll end up being on par with Fallout 4. Bad presentation and bad voice acting. DWTerminator (who reviewed Fallout 4 in two brief hours) possess these problems too, but at least he's working on it.

Sometimes there's nothing you can do about your own voice. I've tried. Mine sucks and there's nothing I can do about it.

Some voice types just not appealing for reviews. I suffer from this too, so no youtube. But this one guy might benefit from having a bit more 'weight' in his voice. More mature. And more calm, the beginning of the video is a bit jumpscare.

Well, in some places he does change his voice to sound more "normal". :p

I watched the whole thing and his complaints are legitimate. Fallout 3 has plenty of bad writing in it and it's clear that they put their effort and resources in a lot of the wrong areas. I like his example at the end with how much detail they put into exploding heads but not the actual story and design of the game. He's 100 percent right about that and that's only one example. I don't agree with everything he said and I don't think Fallout 3 is garbage but his points aren't wrong.

I understand why Fallout fans were crushed by FO3, especially when it came out back in 08. I really like the point he made about the game journalists praising Fallout 3 and not pointing out any of the real flaws in it. All of these things remind me of how I feel about Fallout 4 now, about how it killed the franchise and all of that but really, the Fallout 1 and 2 fans felt the exact same way back then at the release of FO3. New Vegas exists though... and I think that negates that complaint, that FO3 killed the series. While FO4 on the other hand.... Well we're probably not seeing another Fallout game by Obsidian again and even if we did, I think it would be really hard for them to make a good Fallout game in the existing format that FO4 established.

I have a question for anyone who reads this. Does the existence of New Vegas make you enjoy Fallout 3 more or hate it more? Because for me it makes me like it more. It's like the Alpha/Beta version of New Vegas in a different environment with worse writing and it's filled with good and bad moments. By the way, just to make it clear, I played New Vegas before I played FO3, so I don't have any "nostalgia" bias for FO3 or anything like that.

Hated WAY more, because I saw exactly how good it could have been, had it been developed by a competent studio like Obsidian.

Nonetheless, he said the real reason why MQ in F3 must be despised by every single person living on this planet and playing RPGs, or what's pretended to be a RPG - main hero of the story is not player charcater, it's not at all, he's a fucking child in his mid 19s. *tips fedora*
Even whores despise him as a Man. What a chore to be a lone wanderer.

I liked it, it's hilarious. I think we shouldn't really judge someone just because they have a voice like that. I know, I know, sometimes serious-sounding voices are better fit for reviews, but someone like videogamedunkey also don't have that much serious voice yet when shit goes down, most of his reviews nailed it.

I think he's being too harsh just to join in with the crowd. He makes it out to be some Superman 64 tier abomination rather than just a dumb shallow open world game.

Nothing really new. But, meh, I´m always infor some F3 depreciation.

Plus. I already liked this youtuber, so double agreed.

Preaching to the choir on this one. Still, always good to see more anti-Bethesda content.

I'm going to kill that filthy elitist SO MUCH!

EDIT: And in 100 years, when I die, I hope I go to hell just so I can kill that piece of shit all over again.

Not sure how dissecting a game with horrendous writing, world-building, roleplay, and character development, and making completely valid and legitimate reasons why each of these factors were done poorly, is the equivalent to making it out to be a "Superman 64 tier abomination", but okay. No, I believe his approach is perfectly acceptable and makes sense.

As I already explained quite clearly in my post, he goes overboard with it.

Hate it even more.

My first Fallout game was FO3. My second was New Vegas. It took me a while to get into it. After all, when you go from one game you really liked, you expect the following in line to be more of the same but better. New Vegas is practically a whole different genre from FO3. Once I got used to it, I never returned to FO3.

There are two reasons why I loathe FO3:

1) It should have been New Vegas from the start.
2) It's made by a franchise that owns the rights to a franchise that wasn't theirs in the first place. And they have shown they can't do a real Fallout game for shit.
3) We will probably never get a Fallout game made by true Fallout developers again.
4) We will, most likely, never see Fallout return to its rightful owners thanks to the decline of gaming, with games being made for the most idiot of players, and people downright accepting shit just because it comes from Bethesda and Bethesda "cares for its fanbase".

We can only hope Bethesda gets nuked. That's the only way I see them letting go of Fallout. Because as long as it sells, no matter how shit the games, Bethesda will hold on to the franchise.

To any fuckface reading this comment and thinking "YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFUL TO BETHESDA FOR REVIVING THE FRANCHISE".

"Reviving a franchise" implies the franchise was dead to begin with. And Van Buren was being developed. Troika Games started developing their own Fallout game. They lost their bid for Fallout to Bethesda. And if Bethesda hadn't bought Fallout, we could probably have an Obsidian-owned Fallout franchise. And it would only go uphill from there. Would the games have stayed isometric? I don't know. I don't care. But they would have been excellent RPGs, that's for sure, and it's the only thing I care about.

EDIT: The guy's voice is great, I'd much rather have that than the supposedly "best voice in games" Gopher, who sounds like an annoying twat.
