"Fallout 3 is Garbage, And Here's Why", video by hbomberguy

I loved Fallout 3, and still love it now, because despite its obvious flaws and crippling problems, underneath there's good intent. The game has"it." The indescribable thing that games have that make them feel alive. The video game equivalent of a soul. I look at Fallout 4 and just see a money grab. This "soul" is what most AAA games lack - what turned me off to Destiny when I played it, but keeps me going back to Doom (classics of course).

I'm sure fallout 3 is garbage. At least In retrospect. I don't see myself ever enjoying again. Loved the video.

I have a question for anyone who reads this. Does the exstence of New Vegas make you enjoy Fallout 3 more or hate it more? Because for me it makes me like it more. It's like the Alpha/Beta version of New Vegas in a different environment with worse writing and it's filled with good and bad moments. By the way, just to make it clear, I played New Vegas before I played FO3, so I don't have any "nostalgia" bias for FO3 or anything like that.
It makes me enjoy Fallout 3 more because I only play it "inside" of New Vegas :lmao: so it is more enjoyable having all the improved features from Fallout New Vegas in Fallout 3 (ammo types, Hardcore Mode, reloading benches, cooking, recipes, harvestable plants, iron-sights on weapons, the more polished engine, etc) although the NPCs and writing in general are still the same crap I can enjoy Fallout 3 way more now. With the added advantage of if I the player gets bored of the Fallout 3 shortcomings, it is only one train ride away to be back in the Mojave :wiggle:.

So yeah... I am once again tooting my own horn and shamelessly advertising a Tale of Two Wastelands project :postviper:.

I personally find both games to be soulless money grabs because Bethesda advertised them to be so "deep" and "immersive" and "C&C", yet they failed to deliver, or were just poorly implemented. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the game, but you have to admit that these games are made by people who continue to lie about their games, just so they can make a quick buck.

On an unrelated note... Am I the only one that still immediately reads "C&C" as Command and Conquer? It always takes me a few seconds to realise it has a different meaning now :aiee:.

My opinion of F3 changes, but it's not down to New Vegas.
I used to really like F3 back in the day, it's what introduced me to the Fallout Universe. But as time goes on, the game shows its age. And there's nothing in the Game that could really keep it fresh. You're always going to do the same quests with the same outcome regardless.

New Vegas on the other hand was what made me love the Fallout Universe.
It's aged a lot better because I feel I can go back to it and find something new that I hadn't done before. Even now I'm debating whether I should return to it soon despite me completing it again just a couple of months ago.

One games gets worse while the other improves.
I do however, dislike Fallout 4 more because of New Vegas, for me, a sequel is meant to improve on its predecessor, and F4 just feels like a massive step back from New Vegas.
If we never got NV, I may have enjoyed F4 a little bit more, but when you go from having dozens of ending to about 4, there's a problem.

(Note. I've seriously read people say that Fallout 4 had loads of different endings, which is just too funny).

So he was wrong one time! We're all wrong at all times about something! Anyway I liked that video.
Not saying he was wrong, and the man has a right to his opinion, I'm just pointing out that NMA members generally aren't big fans of Mrmattyplays.

Best video I've seen in a while on Fallout. Makes me sad that people like FudgeMuppet and Matt are huge in the YouTube community when it comes to Fallout. Seems pandering gets you to higher places. Being critical takes years to be taken seriously I shit you not if he released this video in 08 the dislike bar would far outweigh the likes. People are only agreeing because most people realized how shallow Fallout 3 is.

FudgeMuppet, I believe, may have increased the RP part of Fallout, with videos on character builds that are lore friendly, and fun to use. The tribal is OP as fuck.

I played NV before 3, so after I finished FO3 I jumped back to NV and was happy that I couldn't defeat a boss by telling him "you're wrong, kys". It makes me hate FO3 more though, that's for sure.
