    fallout couldnt have been gatekept. it had been ten years since there was an entry the original company was dying and bethesda bought the rights to the series halfway through development of 3 and by the time 3 came out it was p much too late

    I found overall damage and criticals to be king in New Vegas. It's kinda pointless to use AP rounds in a cowboy, shotguns, or sniper builds

    I question if Marko in New Vegas Bounties III was intentionally wrote the way he was. To be a more annoying Ulysses.

    @zegh8578 Honestly i never minded Ulysses. He was always wrote like that. Trauma shaped his character into someone who passively aggressively will destroy the world. At least the devs and us knew he was wrong.....Marko however.

    45-70 Govt. Semi Wadcutters do exist...But they're not good at piercing armor. Idk why New Vegas makes them out to be armor piercers

    @Sn1p3r187 The thing is... most rifle calibers were originally as large as 7.9x57-8X51 mm. Those were in turn derived from much larger cartridge that use blackpowder as primer. Like 15mm-24mm. Back then people didn't even think around 6mm because they still believe that bullet mass matter most.

    Modern rifle caliber is what musket pistol size back then. And pistol musket was weak, the result is basically well resisted by hard surface armor like breastplate and even lamellar.

    Found out the issue of using VATs for cowboy weapons in FNV. You have to be hitting aim button and standing in front of them to land hit

    Correction: If 1st Recon were a Medieval battle unit. They would be Slingers not archers. Taking out key targets on a ridge from afar.

    Slingers would be the machine gunner. Slingers were not the most accurate, but unless you do it in volley.

    Actually. Slingers had to be distanced away from each other because of sling arc and wind up. Plus it was stated in historical text that slings were more accurate and had greater distance. Bows when used in volley fire were medieval machine guns

    I don't think NCR are prepared in Mojave. We don't see NCR SWAT, Counter-Terrorism unit, hints of NCR units akin to CIA's Special Activity Division. There are too many creative way to undermine NCR beyond radioactive barrel and nerve toxin gas in the middle of city.

    @eissa Yeah, if it isn't the Legion then it'll be the upset locals not too happy with NCR occupation. The NCR really came into the Mojave with their shoes half tied and didn't expect to fall over. Luckily a lot of mod content on nexus can add some stuff into the game to signify that.

    If FNV were set in Medieval Ages. 1st NCR Recon would be an Archer battalion. Makes sense, they take high ground and rain hell at hoover dam

    But personally if FNV is Medieval setting, almost no factions have access to horses/cavalry which would make the setting pretty much Bronze Age in feels.

    The Legions can be portrayed as cave-dweller barely got access to iron working. Similiar to the Barbarians in Battle Brothers game. Their iron equipment are cold-worked, they are fully nomadic, almost know no agriculture, and they desperate to find real perfect place to settle down.

    @eissa So the the NCR 1st recon battalion would the be the equivalent of Skirmisher/Ambush Archers? Taking High Ground is always perfect for ambushes and I think 1st Recon did something akin to that during the battle for Hoover Dam

    You're not wrong. I love the East coast as a region. As an east coastie I like to see D.C. get representation. It's a hell hole in real life tbh damn near being the Chicago of the East. Maybe nostalgia blinds me sometimes because it was the first RPG I played through start to finish when I was 11. But looking back-it fades.

    The Pitt's writing is mid at best and actually kind of dumb in several areas if you think about it for more than two seconds. The Pitt's writing only seems genius because the rest of the game's writing is so bad that it makes mediocre writing look good. Put The Pitt in New Vegas and that's the worst writing in the game.
