A good gameplay mode?

Is Unity capable of handling procedural generated 3D terrain? Maybe you should take a look at other engines too, it might take some time to learn the new one but it might be just worth it. If you and your buddies can spare the money maybe you could try buying a license for another engine, I heard the Unreal has an affordable package. But that's just an idea. I don't know much about the coding portion of it so I might be proposing something much more complicated.
Yeah it is. But good idea, I should look at the Unreal engine too since it does have nicer graphical capabilities and a lot of my favorite games were made on Unreal. It'd actually be nice to see Wasteland 2 on Unreal 4 when I think about it. But yeah we could try different engines. Though the only thing I'm going to be doing is the writing and the art but the group wants to hear some input on gameplay and other things as such.

Smoke weed and not do anything?
Well we could do that but I'm no smoker and sitting around doing nothing is my night job. No, our decision came in the gameplay department, while I'm advising not to jump the gun they might still do it. So yes a decision was made, but brainstorming is still going on

So, did you talk them out of making an open world rpg with a 3 man group using the unity engine?

Yeah we decided your example would do more justice. So that's the decision. Gameplay wise, we're still figuring that out. A lot of us are caught between making something like Crisis Core and making something like X-Com or Wasteland 2. Right about now our lead said he'd gladly settle for whichever is easier and may pull the player in a bit more in terms of gameplay.

It's kinda hard to ask for money without a product to finance in the first place. People who DO expect the sales pitch to come in at this point are what we professionals refer to as "suckers". Or "saps", if the first name offends you... sucker.

My point exactly. We won't be there for a few years. By few it could be anywhere from 5 to 10 years.

You have 14 people on the team, that's plenty to finish a decent RPG in a few months - sure it might not be pretty, or a first-person open world exploration, but utilizing assets from Unity Store and basic modules you'll get there.

Assuming, of course, everyone is motivated and interested enough...

Ok so don't tell us what it is and expect us to buy this shit.
