A (Minor?) Case for Optimism?

While I agree with the Concept Art being better those 3 are the poorest choices you could've made, they look like absolutely nothing, they just tapped garbage to their bodies and you can't eve ntell what they are supposed to look like.

While there would be a case for optimism, everyone on the internet is acting like a spoiled child so Fallout 4 is automatically going to be a failure just because it has things people like to insult and get upset about.

Yeah people acting like spoiled children, demanding others never say anything negative about something they like.

Was also talking about those who complain. It is just entitlement that makes people argue over a game they have no control over. Either accept the way things are done and play the game, or do not get the game. Do not act like a child when others disagree.

People have differing opinions, learn to accept those like a civil person, do not try to convert someone who will not listen or anything. Your opinion is that, an opinion.

Did Bethesda pay you to come tell us to shut up? Entitlement? So what are you proposing we never say anything negative or to analyse anything? Because you could just easily not enter into the forums. I think a discussion is healthy to have, throwing a fit over others havign different opinions and demanding they stop talking is a rather childish behavior.

No. Just do not gripe and act like a baby and go on about how one game in a series is better than one that is not out yet.

Then stop acting like a baby demanding people to just do what you say and stop talking when you don't want them to.

The improvement in the quality of the writing from F3 to Skyrim as somewhat topical in my opinion, all the complexity and moral choices were concentrated into the main quests. It is awesome that the game gives you interesting character developing choices such as align with stormcloaks vs align with imperials, kill Ulfrich vs let someone else do it, kill Parthunax vs let him live, all the choices you have while negotiating the truce at the throat of the world, etc... But once you get off the main questlines the quality of writing quickly degrades. For example: Every single guild has the same stupid questline progression; enter the guild and get scoffed by side characters for being a rookie, do something important and get closer to the faction leader, faction leader eventually dies because of you actions, you set off to avenge him and at the end you become the new faction leader despite being a total rookie the day before. No choices whatsoever along the way, you can't even refuse to be the leader. And then there is also the fact that every single dungeon in the game is populated by generic evil necromancer/bandits/vampires/whatever and so many other stances of lazy world building that I wont even bother listing.

When I saw the trailer I became pessimistic as fuck. Then I saw the gameplay, and despite the fact that skills may have been completely done away with, I became a bit more optimistic. At the very least the Brotherhood of Steel may not be a white knight faction - I'm certain that the player shooting BoS members was not put in that montage for shits and giggles, they probably wanted to communicate that there will be two choices in the main quest.

The first thing I think about that is that BoS = raiders = talon company = cannon fodder.
"B-but... first you were all angry we made BoS good, now you're angry we made them bad? There's no pleasing you grumps!"

I hope to be wrong of course... :D

I agree about the factions and everything but in my opinion the main quest wasn't complex at all. That goes for the civil war quest line especially since quests and endings for both sides are practically the same. As for the main quest, it was always a left/right situation at best.

Fallout 4 probably won't be much better in terms of story or dialog, at least with the "improvement" of the latter you won't have an illusion of a choice. It'll most likely be a colorful shooter with some RPG elements (perks and stats) where you'll be able to build your own stuff and destroy other stuff as seen in the gameplay video. So far in YouTube videos I've seen people are ecstatic about it and nobody seems to be critical about anything. In rare occasions where you see a negative comment, people usually respond with something like "No, you're wrong because BLA BLA. Todd Howard is GOD!" (I'm not exaggerating.) or "Don't mind him, he's from those NMA forums.".

Here is a case for optimism: The weapon "crafting" system. Being able to turn a plasma pistol or whatever into a plasma SNIPER is plain awesome. Ans the power armor? True Tank armor right there.

This game is shaping up to be a typical console kiddie ARPG, devoid of any originality and ambition. Bethshit looked at all the improvements NV did to the steaming pile of fail that was 3 and said "fuck that", threw them out the window and decided to keep injecting more cancer into the rotting carcass of this once-glorious franchise. Only wish they'd stop calling it "Fallout".

Exactly, and many forget to consider how aware an industry is - the math is quite simple:
Bethesda releases and observes - Fallout 3 is hailed and celebrated by a lot of people, numbers, math, more is better.
Bethesda releases and observes - Fallout New Vegas hailed and celebrated by a few people. And there it is. It's all the math they need. Lesson learned indeed - stay far far away from Obsidian and their dialogy, nerdy ways.

Not at all, NV is well praised by gamers everywhere. To think a major developer and publisher is that derpy is kinda confusing.
