Aliens Invade Fallout 3

What I wanted most is DLC that while with a new area (like the others) has some fresh and unique enemies, as opposed to slightly changed versions...

...I don't know, maybe have FO3 versions of the geckos, spore plant, mantis, floater, wanamingo etc...

Heck even something from the development concept art had some interesting ideas...

In the meantime check out Marts Mutant Mod, it has Geckos (heavily altered deathclaws), floaters and wanamingos. The awesome modeler who has worked on this already built mantis as well but they are not in the mod yet. I have no access at work but you cant miss it on the nexus. The newest version includes some cool stuff like Feral Ghouls rising up again, often missing an arm.

You found the UFO! {Fade to Black}

"I saw one of those humans down by the river the other day, horrible creatures"

...

People think they can get away with anything if it's based on a B-Movie, because any mistakes/weaknesses can be viewed as parody. But I declare camp does not last forever, and one must inevitably come home from camp!

...

Well fallout has always had sci-fi elements like energy weapons/PA, but they certainly weren't the game's strong suit. My thing is, let's say there's high science fiction and low science fiction. High science fiction is more than just a power trip, it should make you reflect on some potential harms of technology (like developing nuclear weapons, FEV, etc.) or ways society/culture changes through tech. Low science fiction is just pew pew lasers alien blast whammo etc. It's better to push for the high stuff.

DLC 5: Godzilla.
Todd Howard: So yeah we felt Godzilla was an integral, cool part of Fallout's lore, so for this DLC you basically have Optimus Liberty wrestle Godzilla amongst the ruins of DC. And the player watches. It has quests and side-quests and everything, it's really cool promise.

Oddly I wouldn't mind a giant dinasour. They tend to turn up in post apoc stuff either from mutation or escaped dinasour zoo animals.

I lost any interest in fallout 3 or anything related long time ago but this is getting more and more ridiculous!

I thought f3 core game was somewhat ok and entertaning, but these DLC:s have some wicked and buggy stuff, just reading about them leaves bitter taste in my mouth.

... and that's when F3 completed its jump over the shark.

I really honestly wanted to write an angry reaction, but the truth is that I have no words to describe the sensation going through my mind.

Aliens... freakin' Aliens!

Like others pointed out I too thought the alien encounter in Fallout was always something done for fun, an 'Easter Egg' based on those silly sci-fi movies.

But an entire freakin' DLC.
It is not enough that you aided in creating a source of clean water, freeing a city of slaves, and defeated the Enclave two times.
Now you are going to defend Earth against invaders from planet X!

Whoever came up with this idea, put him back on his medicines immediately!

The other DLC actually could introduce an interesting new area with its own mutations though Bethesda might as well drop the faux horror angle.

But Aliens... freakin' Aliens!

Well DLC means it is even more optional than a random encounter, but I'm not going to get in the way of anyone getting upset.

Well after this Nazombies and a certain giant reptile honestly won't stand out anymore.

By the time Bethesda is finished with this franchise no one will want to touch it with a twenty feet pole.

They should abduct the developers of Fallout 3, and return their brains!

God honestly, can't people see that this is one of the stupidest concepts for a Fallout expansion or DLC ever.
If the level of stupidity increases even more there is the danger that it will collapse into itself, sucking everyone around it into oblivion.

(the bad kind of oblivion Todd)

This is outright retarded.

Aliens.

Freaking aliens. I cant even begin to explain why this shouldnt be done. Its wrong in every way. It is a BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD idea.
IT doesnt make any sense.
Why ?

It means it is now canon and can be used again.
Technically, it already was canon. Even if you ignore the Wanamingos and aliens in FO1/2, FO3 already featured multiple alien crafts and a computer log that acknowledged the government's awareness of their presence.

And I just wanted to add that I would seriously consider dropping 10 USD for a Godzilla vs. Liberty Prime DLC.
