Note that calling people "trolls" in the headline of your "open letter" isn't the most productive way of going about things. If you genuinely want to de-escalate things, best not to do it that way.
i disagree, what they've done with perks would've been great!
but they messed it up by allowing you to buff up your base stats after selected, granted you can ignore that, if not it'd make way for very specialized Character build, the voiced pro-tag is a problem for RP and I'll mod him out and I'm also sure that someone will mod the dialogue system.
basically i think Fallout 4 will be "mod it a bit and it'll be a masterpiece"
Skyrim can be a masterpiece because of mods so can this.
Alas, this seems fundamentally alien to them. This would (by definition) mean that you "pick your stats in the start and you must stay with them".What i meant by varied character is that It Could've made it to where when you pick your stats in the start You must stay with them
throughout the game.
To whom it may concern,
Now for whatever reason, and granted most of them are probably not particularly good or thought out ones, you seem to think that it's a good idea to share your rabid and over the top obsession with a community who generally either did not like the handling of the franchise, or downright just did not like the product which was being produced. Generally, most even minded and functional adults, would realize that you cannot and will not change the minds of the posters of NMA, by declaring Bethesda's product to be "better", and by simply hurling abuse at them, or ranting on about sodomy or other strange tangents, will not somehow win them over to your side of the argument.
Considering the fact that many of you are fanatics, who think that by loyally standing up for Bethesda/Zenimax, that somehow you've made the product better, or that you shall be rewarded for your efforts. Well guess what, you won't! The producers of the Bethesda line of Fallout products don't particularly care about you or your selfless defense of their product line, they simply want you to buy their product. But the fact that you hold Bethesda's Fallout, as being this almost sacred cow, beyond critique, does not actually make the product any better, but moreover you're simply providing Bethesda/Zenimax with free advertising.
Todd Howard, and his production staff are not your personal friends, and they honestly don't break down in a flood of tears nightly, simply because members of NMA do not like their product. So for the Bethesda Fallout Crusader/Defender, you don't have to feel like somehow you or your family has been slighted, as at the end of the day Howard and his staff are in the business of making computer games to make money, and not to provide you with a replacement for a social life, religion, patriotism etc.
Finally, please for the love of God, stop using the argument that because something is new, it is by default immediately better. We've seen throughout history, that from defense, to consumer goods to heavy industry, that the newest innovation has not always been the best, and in some cases has instead become a flat out disaster of epic proportions.
Well rabid Bethesda supporter, I hope you've learnt something from this letter, and maybe it's even opened your mind, but moreover hopefully it will engage your critical thinking skills, and perhaps you'll start to question your undying loyalty to Bethesda/Zenimax and its line of products.
I think there is a reason for that (that being that it's wholly intentional).Obsidian had to do the hardest part of making a good game which is to write a compelling story with interesting dialogue and characters. In my opinion which is based on no experience in game design whatsoever, this seems to be the hardest part and they more or less nailed it. Something Bethesda consistently fails to do.

They have enough money to hire the best; they could hire anyone they needed to seed the game with a superb and compelling interactive story. Why haven't they done this? Hundred's of millions in profit, and they consistently don't do this. I do think that they are releasing exactly what they intend to release, and that it's done with careful forethought; they are risking too much money not to.
One must ask themselves this: What do you get when you combine a football broadcast, a soap opera, a funniest home-video show, and the Price is Right? median audience; you get Survivor.
Bethesda's games target the median audience; they won't risk the plot of Shogun in any of their titles.
It's because, for all their faults, BethSoft games are good. They're not good Fallout games, or even good RPGs, and Fallout 3 is a little hooey when it comes to almost everything, but everything they've done before or after F3 has been pretty damn good because they're actually sorta-kinda-maybe action-adventure games. Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, they're all WAIT A MINUTE.
Morrowind... Oblivion... Skyrim... Holy crap. Bethesda only does good Elder Scrolls games! Shit... Well, at least F4 looks pretty good, and it's basically Skyrim, but with guns and a better leveling system.
I thought they were ok, but TES as a whole has had a slew of problems from the start -- bad writing, poor character development, lack of choices and consequences, ect. While I liked Morrowind the most, there has been a constant streamlining of features. It's because, for all their faults, BethSoft games are good. It's interesting to see the difference in the community from back in 02 to today. Back then, we were asking for the things I've listed above with even deeper RPG elements. Today, the fans are content and defend Bethesda to the point where criticism is a dirty word. To be fair, there has been some criticism of the dialog in Fallout 4, but as a whole, the fans nowadays tend to excuse a lot of their poorer design choices.
Agreed. However for me the TES series wasn't that good. The only good one due to writing was Morrowind, but even then the gameplay was usually bad.
