I am in no place to change these types of values. 5 is what is set and 5 is what you get. It is also important to note that even though you "let him go" in the basement of the casino (and you don't follow him), he will still run to the graveyard and take the money. Lloyd really wants that MONAY.

Oh, and Phil, can you comment on the questions I had in EDIT 1 of my post above.

- Ok, I fixed the McGee slot machine issue.

- I tested the copying of the vertibird plans several times a few different ways and it works each time. The text should only appear if you give the plans to the Shi. You then can make one and only one copy of the vertibird plans. It works for me.

- The Skynet steal issue is not really a bug, but rather that is how almost all characters in the game react if they catch you stealing. Since I have not used Skynet in so long, refresh my memory, is using steal and then planting items on Skynet the only way to give it new ammo, items to carry, etc?

- I am also in the process of adding in many of the fixes by Seraph. This will take some time...

- The rest of your comments Nuka Cola Dude are mostly quirks in the engine and I can't really fix them at this time. If only we had the source.

2. Wierd, I first gave the plans to the shi, hacked the system, then attempted to copy but it wouldent create a copy... I tried multiple times without success.

3. It isnt supposed to turn npcs in your party hostile when you steal/plant on them. Only seems to do that on skynet. I also had the cybernetic brain, if that has anything to do with it maybe...

4. Please dont add the useless wrong ones! :wink:

5. I heard a while ago that odin was talking to some dude about getting the source released... I wonder how that went? Could you fix the m60 sound? It uses the shotgun (not burst, single!) sound for its attacks. It seems very strange to have a gun that is shooting 15+ rounds each attack to have a single blast... Any luck on fixing the dragon/lo pan bugs?
 
3. Are you sure NPCs don't turn hostile when you steal from them? According to their scripts, if you fail the steal check, they WILL turn hostile. Also, you did not answer my question about Skynet and how one gives it items to carry. (I have not used Skynet in so long, so I cannot remember. Can this only be done through planting with the steal skill?)

5. I will add the m60 sound to the list. (is there not a m60 sound though? Why would it use the shotgun sound?) I have not worked on the San Fran fighting issues in a while, so nothing yet.
 
I have used FALche and hacked my steal skill to 0, and stolen from all my npcs fine. In EVERY Fallout game, you can steal from your own npcs (as long as they are in your party, and not set to wait mode).

And yes, m60 doesnt have its own firing sound, it uses regular shotgun blast.

One moment, im loading game to check skynet.

Ok, Seems my old save game with skynet is broken, Im going to get him all over again..

Heres an interesting bug, you cannot attack certain creatures while they are under air vents.

Im in barter mode with it.

You can give it items.


If you try to plant items on it in steal, it says you planted, but it does not plant, then it says there is no room left.

I could not get it to attack me from stealing this time...wierd.
 
Ok, just looked through EVERY NPC code.

It seems that some of the NPCs will not react to you failing a steal check while others will. The following NPCs will turn hostile if you fail a steal check

- Skynet
- Vic
- Sulik
- Goris

All the other NPCs will not react. I suppose the next question is, what do you all think was intended?

EDIT:

Actually it seems that Vic may not react with a failed steal check. Can the above mentioned people be confirmed?

Also, the vent issue you mentioned is a known mapping glitch. (not something can be fixed without major mapping changes.)
 
Wierd with sulik, with a 0 steal skill I can plant 200 LBs of gear on him without him noticing... :?

*edit* Want my savegame? You can confirm the npc crap because I have every NPC sitting in the vault city enterence except marcus. Im going to take a shower in like 5 minutes...a sexy 15 minute shower!
 
Well, I tried to steal from all your NPCs (while they were in the party) and none of them caught me stealing.
 
Strange though, four days ago I was caught by skynet while trying to steal, reloaded, caught me again, repeated three more times and each time he would catch me every time I would try to steal the FN FAL I gave him...

Did you reload your savegame while in the game?

I have noticed that doing so may cause some strange things (cache isn´t cleared?), so I suggest, that you first quit to main menu and then load the game from there.


As for the M60 sound, Per mentions in his guide that the M60 and Bozar sounds are swapped.

Hello! I am new to the forums, I've been a long time without playing Fallout 2, and the first time I finished the game, years ago, I was using a character editor to get a uber character... (shame on me)... now I'm playing legitimately and thank God I've forgotten most details about the plot in these years, so I can say I'm really enjoying the game. I installed official patch 1.2, played for a while (till about the time when I find Vault 13) then I decided I didn't like some "bugs" about the game, i.e. how you CANNOT get good endings for Gecko, Vault City or Vault 13 due to bugs... I checked out the fanmade patches and decided giving Seraph's patch a try, as it claimed to fix the endings, as well. Also, using the radscorpion limbs to blame the Duntons in Klamath appealed to me :) Anyway, I installed Seraph's patch over my 1.2 official patch, then I installed Killap's patch (Final release B) which claims to be compatible with Seraph's and 1.02 official...

Anyway... I start playing, and everything goes well for a while... with the odd "application error" (CTD) every once in a while, but I got those even with just 1.02, although quite seldom. I get CTDs all the time in Klamath, though: I enter the city, everything's well, but if I try to save the game in the city I get an application error. Also, if I try to leave the city it crashes saying "error saving objects in (name of Klamath's map file)."

Now, what must I do? Considering I'll probably have to restart once again with a new character, I'm willing to reinstall everything, but I'd like to know what you suggest I install, and in which order. There are quite a few patches out there (celestial's, Seraph's, Locutus/Enclave Interactive)... Feedback? :)

Seraph's patch is low-quality at best. It "fixes" many things that were not broken in the first place. I would recommend reinstalling Fo2, grabbing the Bear Dude's patch A (if your game comes with 1.1) or B (if it comes with 1.2).

Get this if your worldmap is super fast, but set the res on 640x480 if you dont want bugs.

Get this if you want the holy-hand-grenade encounter, cafe of broken dreams to stop popping up over and over, and encounter booster.

Yeah, this was already mentioned before. It has to do with the village outside vault city area that was never implemented. Thanks though!

Update on my work: Progress slow, painful debugging....
 
Umm, if I remember correctly, Skynet had mentioned that he made some very basic map design for this area...not sure what has become of it though.

It was basically just a modified ARVILL2.MAP.

However, I got some other map left out from my cancelled project, that could be used after some modifications...
