* The piece of flint does not look like a piece of rock if dropped, even though your readme file says it should. Still has the looks of a rectangular paper box.
Already mentioned before. Requires a map fix in addition to the proto fix. It has been corrected and awaiting my next release.

* When doing the sheriff's quest about stopping the bar brawl in Redding, the sheriff wouldn't let me finish it by taking in the Morningstar Mine worker. If I talked to the miner from the other mine (can't remember the name right now), however, it finished just fine.
I have not heard this happening, but I shall look into it.

As for New Releases, will you add an enhancement to Miria or Davin? So those two leveling up and becoming productive members of society would be cool.

Any chance of added locations?

Oh, by the way how does one get Berserker? You have to kill more good people then bad people, right?

****
Wait, you can repair Old Man McGee's machine? Hmm, interesting. When I won the game (usually a high luck character anyway), I just split the money with him or kill the old bastard.

Care to give an estimate on when the next release will be?
I am shooting for the end of this month. We will see how that goes.

Those type of changes will occur in my addon, not in this patch. If the bug reports ever stop rolling in, then I will finally get to that. 8)

And yes, repairing the slot machine makes it easier to win the jackpot if your gambling is not that high.

Yes, but I had this wonderful little problem. If I tried to use McGee's machine in any way, he'd go apeshit on me and refuse to talk to me again.

Is this a case of using "Stealth-Repair"?

Oh, I tried to whack Bishop using the repair skill on the safe, but the game still crashes, before and after your patch.

Any chance that will get fixed, as I notice when you use dynamite for ill it tends to just crash the game. So... is it possible to whack Bishop this way, doing the quest for Mrs. Bishop?

Can you guys tell me exactly how you get it to crash. I have done the safe a million times and not experienced these types of crashes. I did previously get some crashes before my patch but corrected the cause of this. Not sure why I too can't reproduce this.

Okay what I did was repair the safe like they said and went downstairs and sent time to 2100 hrs and I hear a boom and the comp goes black.

Okay, so ALL you did was repair the safe and then went downstairs? Couple questions. Did you at any point open the safe (unlock it), etc. Oh, and how did you get up to the room? Did you sleep with one of the Bishop women or were you allowed up?

@Unkillable Cat

Working on bug fixing again...you claim that the computer in the enclave during the boss fight does not shut off the turrets even when you choose to do so? Just looked at the code and it appears to work as it should. Do you directly engage combat when you deactivate them? According to the script, a short timer is set before the actual turret shut down commences. In any case, can get a save game from you to test this?

killap: I do not directly engage anything after having used the computer. I advance towards Horrigan, which means he engages combat and goes first.

Regardless of what Horrigan hits, the turrets open fire after he is done.

...is it possible that the shutdown procedure only works if you do it before you blow the reactor?

Ok, I am cleaning up the last few things for my next release and I was hoping I could get some last minute verifications out of you guys. Here are the things I need checked and verified.

1. The terminal on Level 2 STILL makes my computer crash from time to time...
Never been able to confirm this one. The supposed culprit is the computer on level 2 that has all the e-mails (the one near the security robot repair area)

2. Crashes trying to assinate Bishop through tampering with his safe
Once again I have not experienced this issue either. If you do encounter this problem, please post as much info as you can about how you got it to crash. (ie if you have any quests open with Bishop, how you got to his room, etc)

3. Does killing Dr. Schreber in Navarro really prevent the death claws in vault 13 from being exterminated.
I need for someone to repair the computer that needs to be fixed in Vault 13, go to Navarro, kill Dr. Schreber, wander the wastes for a couple months then report back to Vault 13. Before, if Dr. Schreber was not killed, the death sequence to kill all the death claws in Vault 13 would be activated and they would be killed. I have implemented what Seraph added (in his patch) which keeps the death claws from being exterminated if you kill Dr. Schreber before the extermination team is sent. I need verification that this change works as it should.

@Unkillable Cat
Can you still send me a save game file of you right before the end boss fight?

Found something else that I'd consider a bit weird...

With your latest patch, I'm unable to finish the quest to help Torr guard the brahmin. I can do all the things I'm supposed to be able to do with the Duntons, and after killing the radscorps, I get a message saying "You've killed all the...(and so on)". The only problem is that when all this is done, and I exit the screen as usual, I now get a "You failed to help Torr guard the brahmin" message, even though Torr is very grateful when I speak to him... :(

I shall run through this and see. I remember it being mentioned before but cannot recall the outcome.

What version of my patch are you using?

EDIT: Just ran through it and it worked fine for me. Can you please tell me EXACTLY what you do in the game to cause this glitch?

First of all, thank you Killap for giving me a reason to play fallout again. The thought of playing an almost bug free fallout 2 is incredibly exciting.

My question is, Is your patch compatible with the children fix patch for UK edition? If so can you tell me what order to patch the unpatched UK edition?

Well if you are using the UK version, then first check and see if your game comes prepatched with 1.02. If it does come prepatched, then check if there is a file named patch000.dat and be sure to delete it. Proceed then to install version "A" of my patch but do not copy over the .exe file. (If the game does not come prepatched, then just install version "A" of my patch as well and proceed with the following) Download the official 1.02 UK patch and from there just copy over the .exe. As for the children fix, I have never used that so I don't know what is included. My guess is that it includes missing proto files and such. If that is the case, then install the childrens patch after you have installed my patch. Let me know how this all works for you.

Ok. i have UK version 1.01
I copied your A patch to the fallout directory. Then Ic opied the children files to the fallout data folder. Then i put in the V1.02 exe file. The game seems to start up again. I'll post again when I get to somewhere with children to see if it worked. Thanks.

@Per

I was tinkering with how barter modifiers are handled in the game again and took another look at randal's script in Vault City. In your guide, you say that he is supposed to charge more if you are a citizen of Vault City and less if you are not one. Is this because it sucks to be a citizen of Vault City? Also, you claim that if you click on the barter button rather than go through dialogue, his items will cost more since the modifier won't be applied. Won't this be the opposite? Since he charges more if you are a citizen, won't things actually be cheaper by going through the barter button rather than through the modifier (which makes things more expensive)?

Killap, I tested to see if eliminating Schreber saves the deathclaws.

4 May: Fixed Vault-13 computer.
9 May: Killed Dr. Schreber.
7 Jan: Returned to Vault-13. No Enclave slaughter.

It looks like it works. I did notice a few issues with special random encounters while wandering around.

1. King Arthur's Knights and the Guardian are sometimes announced as "Error" in the World Map dialog.

2. Some special encounters that are marked on the map (Toxic waste dump, Knights) are permanently labeled "Unknown".

One more thing: I haven't seen this mentioned here. On the second floor of the Vault City vault are several doors that can only be opened by brute force. With 8 ST I could bust a door with no problems. With 7 ST, using a crowbar is supposed to help. I tried it and the message box said that I pried it open successfully, but it didn't open. Something like "This door is broken and cannot be closed" appeared over my character's head every time I tried to open it, and trying again with 8 ST didn't help.

By the way, did you get the saved game that I emailed? I've been having problems with my mail server not delivering large attachments and then not telling me about it.
