I just got you e-mail and test the computer you speak of...no crash. I think something might be wrong with your script file to that computer. Could you please e-mail me the file "msterm2b.int" found in the scripts folder of your Fallout 2 directory.

Edit: Ok, I am just going to change the whole post because I don't think my point is gotten. I entered SAD, went to level 2. This is a quote from Per's guide.
Go to the room to the south (Lockpick 100% recommended for the door) and loot all the ammo crates for some serious armour and weaponry, such as a Plasma Rifle and 2 Combat Armors. Don't miss the row of small crates behind the wall.
The bots in this room, with one exception, will not fight back if attacked, nor does this alert the other bots on the level. In all they're worth 8250 xp, which isn't so bad when you first get here. The exception is the rocketbot closest to the yellow forcefield.

Notice the part that says "nor does this alert the other bots on the level".

Before Killaps second release of his final patch, this statement was true.

After I downloaded the last release this statement is false. When the one "execption rocketbot" gets hit, it puts the whole base on alert. It never did this before. Was this a change by Killap or an OOPS.

I hope this clarifies things.

Yes, you are correct that the base should not go on alert if you attack the bots. But read that passage again "The exception is the rocketbot closest to the yellow forcefield. If you attack the bot closet to the forcefield in the storage room, then the whole base goes on alert. You can kill all the others in that room EXCEPT that one bot. I just did a quick test and only that bot will cause the alarm.

EDIT: I would love to send you that file...if it was there! It's not found anywhere on the computer, and it isn't either in the .rar file I downloaded that contained your patch.

I downloaded it on New Year's day and it is 5.024.348 bytes in size. Did I download the right file?

I have been playing with your mod some time and notest that I never grew a six toe. I walked trough some green goo and got damaged.

I am running some other mods so it might be there fault. if not did you disable the six toe ?

and wasn't there a bug aswell with getting an unlimeted amount of toes by stepping in the goo, cutting it of and doing it over and over ?

Thank-you Killap for the reply. It was wierd because my first ever time playing that never happened, The rocketbot never attacked back or set off the alarm. I know for a fact that it wasn't destoyed in one shot either.

Hey everybody!

Got a slight problem here with the patches..
I got the ALL-IN-ONE box with F1,F2,FTactics, and a bonus CD.
- UK Version (European Version as it say on the box)

Anyway, F2 Comes unpatched.. and the F2 Official v1.02 Patch is at the bonus CD.

I install the 1.02 patch and I've cleared the game like 1 time. Though there is many things u want changed, and a few bugs etc..

So I though that maybe these Unofficial patched could help ..

I then installed :
The F2 Official v1.02 Patch [UK]
+
Fallout 2 unofficial v1.04 patch (ENG) [UK]
+
Fallout 2 unofficial v1.05 patch (ENG) [UK]
+
F2 patch 1.05 Update1 [UK]

Wow lots of changes etc... I can now see the leather armor at Sulik etc.. very cool.

But I get a few crashed sometimes, nothing I care of..

But when I got to the Den .. I saved for the night.. and when I was going to load again I get error .. tried everything almost, disabled DR.WATSON etc..

If I save in another city its cool.. but when I save in DEN I cant load it.. sometimes I get an Fallout Error Message in game when I’m trying to lead saying its corrupt or something..

But I haven’t tried playing game in 16bit high colour and 800x600 desktop etc.....
Since I have cleared the game without any official patches before.

(I got an AMD Athlon 2400+ , 1GB RAM, GeForce4 ti4600, WIN XP PRO)

So what could be the problem here?

I also tried to install Killap's Patch release Final B (Since I got UK version and got patch v1.02 Official installed ..

But right at the start I get problem with that patch, According to PIP-Boy I have already completed 2 quests in another town, and I haven’t even entered Temple of Trials ;P so I don’t want to continue with that patch, since there might be more problems..

Ok, yeah, there have been reports of crashes in the Den using the unofficial 1.05 patch hence why I don't really recommend it.

As for my patch, the problem you describe is common and here is the solution:

If you game comes with the Fallout 1.02 patch already installed, then check if there is a file called patch000.dat under the Fallout 2 directory. If there is, then delete that file and install version A of my patch. (don't copy over the .exe since you are using the UK version.) If your game comes with 1.02 patched, but there is no patch000.dat, then just use version B of my patch. If your game does not come pre-patched (ie version 1.0), then install version A of my patch but do no use the .exe that comes with it. Download the UK version of the official 1.02 patch and then just copy over the .exe that is included in that.

This has worked for others and should work for you. Let me know how it goes.

Right, I've finished the game now, so this should be the last bug report I give...I'm sure killap will be relieved.

San Francisco:

# If I accept the Rocketman's quest to get fuel for their spaceship, and then kill all the Hubologists, the quest is not crossed out (set to failed).

Navarro:

# The "Deal with the Deathclaw quest". When I first entered Navarro, I entered via the airduct. This requires me to open the door with the blue keycard which Xarn wants me to unlock to free him. The thing is, I hadn't even talked to him, and I got the quest XP for freeing him and he took off.

But the real problems came later. Finding that I could not open the second door requiring they blue keycard (the game gave no response if I tried to do anything with that door) I re-entered Navarro through the trapdoor in the shack by the gas station. After that I talked to Dr. Schreber and asked if I could deal with the Deathclaw. This put the quest in my Pipboy, but since Xarn was long gone, I could not deal with the Deathclaw, and thus the
quest is not crossed out.

Enclave Oil Rig:

# On the map to the east of the entrance, there is a rec room to the southeast, in which there are two scientists. These two scientists are, however, labelled as "a person in a vault suit" instead of being "members of the United States Chemical Corps" and unlike the other vault suit-wearing people around here, are not carrying Plasma Grenades and have twice as many hit points.

# On the next floor down, there are two desks facing each other in the first room you enter. You can walk through the upper desk.

# On the floor with the electric floor, I can see a section of "greyness" in the "blackness" just above the locker with the G.E.C.K. What is this?

# Using the Presidential Access Key to turn off the Turrets does not work! They still open fire with all they got, and tear up my party like paper. Shouldn't I be able to turn the turrets so they do not participate in the end fight against Horrigan?

gar, sorry I meant to say "wsterm2b.int"

@forddieselguy
Well, I did not change a thing with that bot so I am not sure. Still, it is the only bot in that room that has the attack bot script attached to it, so it makes sense that it will fight back and cause the alarm to go off. Per mentions this as you already stated.

@Oracle
I did not change anything with the obtaining the toes, but what armor were you wearing at that time? Since you mention other mods being used, I would say there are too many variables in that situation and hence they just might be the culprit. Can you test with a fresh install of my patch?

Ah thanks for answer killap!
I tried this time to Reinstall F2 yet again.. *sigh* :)
And this time I didnt install the officiall patch;
I only installed the UnOfficiall F2 Patch 1.05 and the Update1 ..

And I quickly did temple of trials, and traveled to the Den, save & loaded many time at diffrent locations in the Den, without any problems.

So it looks like it works now, maybe the problems last time was that I installed severals patches on top of each others?

I hope it works this time.

If its not (Lets say its something u do in Klamath that makes it crash in the Den .. I dont know.) then I will try your patch Killap.

Well glad it works. Still, I feel that the 1.05 patch is not that great and alters too much (the ammo changes can be ridiculous!) Still, it is your choice what you use. I just feel that my patch makes for the best experience possible. 500 bugs less can only mean a plus in the gaming experience. 8)

Oh, well I wont use any firearms anyway, so I suppose it wont effect me that much anyway :)
500 bugs, that a lot yes, but I guess this 1.05 patch also removes a few bugs as well.

A couple of things the 1.05 patch does is that it removes the Radscorpion Limbs in Klamath because the patch writers couldn't figure out how to fix the scripts of the Dunton brothers in Klamath.

And it also adds a familiar old man in Vault City...

Celestial chose to use what he thought was best for his patch.

Also, I remember one final bug in killap's patch...Jackpot Jane in Redding still sticks in "Fight Commentator mode" if you kill all the Molerats in the cages and then bet on a Molerat fight.

I found a peculiar bug....

When I rescued Smiley from Toxic Caves and spoke to him back in Town, he taught me gecko skinning and all, but when I spoke to Buckner, she asked me if I was still on the quest to find Smiley.

And when I speak to Smiley, it's as if we are in the caves again.

So I went back to the caves and found Smiley standing there and all. When I leave I get the 1k XP. And when i return to town I see Smiley again and plus a second one. THis time, it crossed out the quest.

The second smiley followed me around town but vanished afer I left Klamath.

Wierd bug...

By the way, I don't know if it makes a difference, but I saved Torr after I scarred his retarded ass for the Duntons.
Replicated this bug with Killap's patch. It only seems to happen if you ask Ms. Buckner about the location of the caves, then say something along the lines of 'No, I don't want to save him' and then save Smiley anyway. Since you never accepted the quest, Ms. Buckner just asks you whether you've seen Smiley, even though he's standing next to you. Once you accept the quest then, you need to return to the caves, where Smiley will be standing. Rescue him again, return to Klamath, and you can claim the reward from Ms. Buckner, but the second Smiley will continue following you around the town.

Thank you Sander. Your bit of info will surely be the crucial in squashing that bug.

Bug squashing... WEEE

Oh, I love the dialogue with Old Man McGee when you take his winnings. Since I am playing an evil person, I simply killed him when he insulted me...

Fun times, fun times.

Since Old Man McGee is brought up again...exactly what can be done with him?

Ah yeah, I remember you asking this before but I never did respond to it..sorry.

A little background... Old Man McGee was actually already in the game, but his script was not attached. His script was pretty bugged (probably why it was not added), but I cleaned that up and adding him back in the game.

As for what can be done with him there is not really that much. If you ask him what he is doing, he will just grumble about the slot machine he is playing at and how he never wins anything after all the years he has been at it. If you have really high luck and gambling skill, you can play the slot machine and after some tries win the famous jackpot that he can never get. Winning this way can be really hard though, so examining the machine and using repair before playing can yield better results (different levels of repair will determine what can be done with the machine) If you do win, then a conversation with the old man will ensue leaving you with 2 choices (each of which has sub choices).

Ahh...the Gambling skill is what was preventing me from getting anything out of this.

I thought having Luck 10 and Gambling 60% was sufficient, but clearly that is not the case.

Hey Killap, great work so far. Your patch is much better than the official ones...

However, I have encountered some issues with it. I installed the unpatched UK version, patched it with the official UK 1.02 patch, removed the patch000.dat file and installed your "A" version patch. During my game (which I started from scratch after all the above) I noticed a few things:

* The piece of flint does not look like a piece of rock if dropped, even though your readme file says it should. Still has the looks of a rectangular paper box.

* When doing the sheriff's quest about stopping the bar brawl in Redding, the sheriff wouldn't let me finish it by taking in the Morningstar Mine worker. If I talked to the miner from the other mine (can't remember the name right now), however, it finished just fine.
