Aye. Finally I have made it.
It seems that it is some kind of engine bug,
related to saving and loading, like the fights in gym in New Reno.
So, I just saved in the beginning. With some crashes I
could finally come to Lo Pan.

But another problem I am facing right now.
It is reproducible.
I am at Level 30, and have done what could be done,
I just need to return to Vault 13, for the Navcom parts.
I can enter the caves of Vault 13, but as soon as
I want to enter the Vault, Fallout 2 crashes.
I've got a savegame with the problem ready, if needed.

You mean that you are attempting to save/load while in the fighting ring?

Yes, please send me the game. Did you do anything with Matt before the crashing began?
 
Yes. I was using quicksave and quickload while the fights.
The problem even ocured when not doing so,
but less frequently.


For the actual problem. So, I was talking to Matt before,
and rescued the woman from level below.
(the savegame is sent to the adress in your readme)

Just tested and no crash. When I spoke with Gruthar, however, he started talking about Matt. I remember this issue before and I remember fixing a crash bug in Gruthar's script when Matt is killed. This is fixed in my latest release, hence why I did not have a crash when testing just now. Are you sure you are running my newest patch from Feb 2006? Even if you think so, install the patch again (but attempt a clean install of the game this time; save games will still work). Let me know the outcome of this.
 
It should be the latest patch. But I am downloading it at the moment,
that means, waiting for the download at 3ddownloads.

I will drop in again, after trying.

The installation of the latest version of the patch
did the trick. No problems anymore. :)

Not sure. Probably not though since I assume that mod uses new global variables. Cannot say for sure without looking though. Give me some time and I will take a gander.

Fallout 2 Crashing in San Fran

Hi!

I'm ready to head to the Enclave, and the game CTDs when I try to exit the barge or the Brotherhood bunker (happens at any exit. Also happens when I try to save the game in these locations.). Note that I've already visited these locations and have completed all the quests.

killap's patch is installed.

Also note that I experienced a lot of instability when assassinating the head Hubologist (using a combination of super stimpacks and dynamite).

Issues with my patch should be posted within the patch thread or e-mailed to me.

At any rate, I am not sure why the game crashes in San Francisco as that never happened in any of my testing. If you could, please e-mail me a save game so I too can see this crashing for myself. Use the e-mail address in the readme of my patch.

Also note that I experienced a lot of instability when assassinating the head Hubologist (using a combination of super stimpacks and dynamite).
This is a common issue with the Falout 2 engine. Nothing can really be done about it.

Just got around to checking this and it works on my end. Either you are not running my latest release or when you updated to the newest one you did not overwrite all the previous files correctly. Try a reinstall. (Don't worry save games will still work)

Though you sent me the save game folder, you seem to not have sent the entire contents of it. The save game folder should include more files (such as a file called SAVE.DAT) Could you please send me the entire contents of the folder that corresponds to your save game. Thanks.
 
Other Bugs/Issues

The Den
• Equipping the Ranger badge should piss off Metzger.

Redding
• Typo in Sherrif Marion's second line: "rechon" should be "reckon".
• The Sherrif should recognize that you're a ranger even after you've completed his quests.
• [Double-check this] Can't use lockpicks on steel (i.e., bank vault) door in casino.

Weapons
• .223 Pistol should use the pistol animation instead of the SMG animation.
• Couldn't get (Cyberbrain) Skybot to use the Gauss pistol or the Red Ryder LE BB Gun.

Navarro/Gecko
• I suggest switching the Yellow Pass Key found at the crashed vertibird site with the Blue Pass Key found in Gecko (or, just switch their functions but leave the colors the same).

S.A.D.
• Extracting a brain from Skybot should return its cybernetic brain (if it has one).
• Disabled (using the Repair skill) robots should not return fire when attacked (like the robots in storage on Level 2).
• Should get XP for using he Howitzer to open the door (assuming that's not the only way..).
• [According to Per's walkthrough...] Robots on Level 4 need to be released from their enclosure when Skynet gets angry.

User Interface
• Bug in the trade screen: if you're encumbered, you can't trade items with NPCs in your party.

SF
• Hole in the wall in the barge where it is possible to shoot from the galley into Badger's little hideout.
• Was able to go through Vikki's & Juan's Hubologist initiation sequence twice, receiving two identical holodisks.
• I became stuck in the boxing ring after killing the first opponent when doing the kung-fu test for the "School of Others".

V13
• Hole in the wall on level three between the two computer rooms.
• Returning here after completing the game triggers the extermination sequence.

Items
• Description of Mirrored Shades states that it provides a stat boost simply by including it in the inventory, when this is actually not the case.

NPCs
• Skynet behaves weirdly after completing the game. (It turns into a hostile donkey-bot, and continues repeating the same message about being 'FREE' even after having been killed.)

the 223 is a big gun. I think the smg animation fits the 223 gun better the then pistol animation.

V13: How is this bad? Inless youve already seen it.

Shades: as I recall, it says you feel cool just having them in your inventory, but to use the Charisma+1 you have to have them in a weapon slot.

not sure if killaps patch changed the description. Im waiting the longest possible time so I can fully enjoy it

I thought this was fixed, but maybe not. Will investigate.

Sounds like an engine issue, therefore no real way to fix this.

Hmm, I tried very hard to fix every bug with the kungfu matches in San Fran. Anything you did in particular to cause you being stuck and are you sure you are running my latest patch?

I changed nothing with the description, it should only give you a bonus when worn.
