That would have been better as far as the introduction goes, but in all honestly.....the game still would've been complete trash with this "dialogue" system. I feel the same way about other cut content, like the Combat Zone. How much difference would the cut content have made for me when the aspect that defines Fallout was, by design, so completely gutted?
It's cool though, I don't mean to attack you for sharing information.....I know that's all you're doing. I have had these thoughts anytime anyone mentions cut content for this game
It would be a better game, though not necessarily a better rpg.
I too don't think original idea wouldn't help to save RP aspect of the game. Because in Fallout 3's prologue, player allowed to interact. Since half of role play happens in player's head, during Vault 101 sequence player was allowed build a role in his head according to options presented.
Fallout 4 on the other hand, takes prologue as a tool to provide a more "cinematic experience" that encourages the player to feel certain emotions. Bethesda Games used to be free of judgement. Unlike Blackisle games where player strictly judged for their morality (with magical tools no less; like karma or perks like slaver child killer); Bethesda games always allowed player to be pragmatic without negative consequences as long as they manage get away with it. Though "getting away with it" was too easy; i always preferred Bethesda's approach.
And now with voiced acting and cinematic approach, this game filled with forced morality and emotions with total ignorance toward what player or the character he tries to role play actually feels...
