"Bethesda presents...Oblivion 2"?

Of course these are just rumors, but, honestly now, given the current state of Bethesda and the games the company develops, whatever the game is I have little faith in it being "good."

"Oblivion 2" seems like a sort of "cop out." How long can they milk that game? But, it could work. If I am remembering correctly, TES stories have already been written up to 40 years after Oblivion. Oblivion was supposed to be the end of the world (lulz, post-apoc TES), the world going into turmoil, et cetera. The Argonians take over Morrowind. A focus on Morrowind and/or the Black Marsh could prove interesting, that is, if they have a competent team working on the game. Competent in all fields.

It would be funny (not) that the whole purpose of Bethesda buying Fallout was so they could use some element of the Fallout games in their post-Oblivion post-end-of-the-world TES. Now... what element could that be...

Why, the mirelurks, of course.

mudlurks then. Or Mirecraps ? Something which is iradiated by Oblivion magic.

Also, if we really get a post-magic-apcalypse-Tes then I want finally my magicaly exploding horses when you shoot them with arrows !!! Damnit ! EXPLOSHIONS !!!!

Then they'll sell special armor for horse bombs as a DLC

Uh, what? Bethesda created mirelurks.

J/k man. Horrible creatures.

Seriously though, hard to say what they'd take if they wanted to. Not sure why they would. The whole logic thing is complicated by the fact that FO3 lacks any, and that they've already FUBARed any decent FO lore. Why they'd want any after what they did to it is beyond my ability to understand.

I never once fell in a seam in Morrowind... odd.

Agreed on the main theme... it was awesome.

However, we can't forget this:

Ugh, don't remind me. On lower levels, it was a pain in the ass to travel through mountains.
It still haunts my dreams.

I only play Morrowind with two mods (though it's the only recent Bethe$da game I don't mind playing without any) One mod makes it so that Cliff Racers are smaller and non-aggressive except for the blighted ones. And one that makes the enchanted items glow softer. I never got stuck in a seam.

At least you'll get all those beaks for alchemy....

I don't see how you can use the same person on a new game without a import facility. And you'd have to own Oblivion too.

Just finished a 'do everything' game on Oblivion. Rather dissipointed with the 'Knights of the Nine' addon. Did it in around 45 mins. Was expecting more - the two Morrowind addons were much longer.

I saw a mudcrab the other day. Filthy creatures!

OH GOD NO! I'll never get it off my head! Those... those... things the game calls humans, talking about... *uncontrollable shaking throughout the whole body, loud sobbing and begging for mercy*

mudcraps or not. But I hope Oblivion 2 will have the same awesome physics and Radiant AI ...

Not that much of a big news.
Hasn't it already been said that the new TES title will feauture first signs of steamworks, machines etc?

Well Morrowind already hat Steampunk elements (dwemer ruins etc.).

Yeah, I recall some of the dwemer ruins in Morrowind pretty well. I bet they'll come up with yadda yadda "finally the fine folks of Cyrodil found the ancient secrets of the long lost dwemer and adapted the ways of machine/steamworks craftsmanship. The whole empire flourished and eventually you, the brave dragon warrior finds out that... [insert Beth Trope here]" etc.

I don't await some new and fresh ideas there, everything is predictable when it comes to Bethesda Softworks.

No. Rumor was, it will be 200 years after the events of Oblivion, nothing more.

I personally liked the TES stuff until Oblivion. It just fucked up everything and made me not liking it anymore. Maybe I could get back into it, if Bethesda stops building the rpgs the way they build them.

What saddens me is that it will most likely be another meaningless game by Bethesda that will be a commercial success. But hey, at least the modders will get another playground to mess around in.
