Bethesda teases Fallout 4 announcement

This place really suffered from a nuclear attack.

No. Head is too short for PA Helmet.

It's a metal Super Mutant armor.

I think the character is not wearing a helmet.

maybe the super mutant wearing PA? HELL YEAH, SUPER MUTANTS JOIN BOS

If they want to have big cities they have to stop having those "AWESOME MUSHROOM CLOUDS!!!" on cinematics happening right in the middle of said cities... Why not just make a setting that was affected by the Fallout and resulting chaos itself and didn't just have a nuke explode right in the middle of it?

The cloud was not from the city? Could have been nearby but not a direct hit.

Aw no... The protagonist starts in a stupid looking vault suit again. And the 'war never changes' line is being thrown around meaninglessly again. Do those people ain't got any creativity left anymore? And why does this looks so colorful? Fallout is set after the end of civilization, it's meant to be sad. Where's all the gray?

what about the atomic bombs that explode above the ground? that could be it.

F3 had enough greenish-brownish gray.

By the way, I'm really surprised how bad the graphics are. That dog looks exactly as in F3 and the guy in a vault suit looks even worse than the F3 model (look at his arm). And textures are really low in some places (I'm not sure if there are autumn leaves in this house or is it wood scraps?). Only shaders look nice. If the actual game looks worse than this, Bethesda truly outdone itself.

You can't please everyone.. With fallout 3 they ranted about the greenish-brownish gray bleak theme, and how its empty and desolated despite being set over two centuries after the great war. With many photos from Chernobyl attached...

Now that we have something that would be realistic in Boston area (within engine limitations) they would rant about how it isn't greenish-brownish gray :?

Wasn't it Avellone that said that you had to imagine Fallout as taking part in an alternate universe where physics don't behave like in the real world (nuclear fallout lasting for hundreds of years and radiation causing people to mutate into immortal ghouls instead of dieing, etc)? Anyway, criticizing fallout for lacking in natural realism is ridiculous IMO.

Atmosphere and ambiance, on the other hand, is the core for a good Fallout game and colorfulness somewhat breaks it for me.

I am not sure about Avellone, but I agree that ranting about natural realism is little ridiculous. And i'd like to think that atmosphere and ambiance is more than just the screen tint.. Take any picture from war turn place on earth that reeks from desperation and you still see color within.. Otherwise you can just change your screen "temperature" setting..

Personally, I would welcome more veracity in the scenery, because the engine limitation (of open world) and its set far on the west coast so it should bother the fanatics.

So cyborgs or at least augments of some kind are lore in Fallout, does that bother those of you who dispute the Androids being a retro futuristic thingie/lore breaking?
Fallout is the future they expected... Why wouldn't there be human-like androids ~they expected them.

Does it really matter? It is a nuclear weapon after all. Infact, the damage can be even bigger if it doesnt explored directly at the target but with some distance. And I think it is fair to assume that a hub like Boston (or what ever big down) wasn't just hit by one nuke but actually several bombs of different size. With New Vegas at least House explained why the city was left more or less untouched by the wareheads. - But who knows? Maybe Beth will explain it, somehow.

I still can't believe that rocket ship. Making that a literal thing is such a retarded Beth thing to do.
Flying cars has been the staple of Retro Futuristic visions since the 50s.. And while I can see how in such a future some crazy millioner might built a ship that sails the skies, I am not certain if what we seem is that or something hotwired later on for some unknow reason.
