Detroit DLC confirmed.
Hmm, apparently Bethesda did actually explain this one. Pipe weapons are apparently pre-war items coming from Detroit.

Still retarded though.
Just because the style of gun originated in Detroit doesn't mean that all of them came from Detroit.Oh, well, that explains it perfectly. The citizens of Detroit had nothing better to do than hide endless amounts of pipe pistol in every safe in Boson just as the bombs fell. You know, in case a functionally 240 years old Vault Dweller picked all those locks on their way to save their son somewhere down the line.
Such worldbuilding. Much care.

Nice doge meme though.(being serious)
The whole point of the pipe weapon is that they are something you can make yourself at home. There aren't any armament factories in Boston, or is there? If there is I haven't found any.

You don't need a factory to make them, that's sort of the point of it being a pipe gun. Like real world pipe guns aren't made at a factory, they are things rednecks build at their house because they think they are cool for having a home made gun.

Oh okay. Then why did they originate from Detroit when you can make it at home? And that the guns will differ in appearance to each other?
The magazine was likely talking about the style of pipeguns, not the idea of pipeguns themselves.Oh okay. Then why did they originate from Detroit when you can make it at home? And that the guns will differ in appearance to each other?
Pipe Guns were all the rage in Detroit because 10mm handguns were too efficient.
Along with all the other guns they could have added. If they wanted to reuse so many assets why not add the Chinese Assault Rifle?
Actually, the Chinese assault rifle was in the game at some point. The texture for it is in the game files.Along with all the other guns they could have added. If they wanted to reuse so many assets why not add the Chinese Assault Rifle?
Ah, the old "repurpose during development". Classic. Gave us the Bozar!
