Bethesda's Lore Recons

In Fallout 4, power armour feels less like a potent achievement and more like common loot.

The entire point of PA in Fallout 4 is that it is common but that it has specific systems that more accurately reflect the experience of being inside PA. It is not a cRPG mechanic or a late game treat.

But it's supposed to be extremely rare. Now it's like entire families in Boston had power armour.

I remember going through a whole mess of a quest to get Winterized T51-b power armor in Fallout 3 because of how rare it was.

I can't imagine doing that now. I have 6 sets of the stuff sitting in my garage.

Ah, the old "repurpose during development". Classic. Gave us the Bozar!

Give us logical guns!

That, too.

(I just meant that this repurpose late in development lead to the creation of the Bozar as it is: Described as a sniper rifle, functioning as a HMG)

Heh, yeah. I have over twelve suits by now, two complete sets of X-01 (and two partial), and several sets of every other armour (except for T-51, for some reason, I guess I didn't explore enough when I was in the correct range of levels). Stopped taking them with me because my purpose-built hangar ran out of space.

Just a quick rundown, other cut content includes.

-Harpoon gun.

-The Combat Zone being a fully functional arena, where we could bet on matches, and apparently had to fight Cait in the arena itself. Though this may have been a one time thing that only happened to recruit Cait, and then everyone turned on you after like they do normally.

-An alternate ending to the Blind Betrayal quest, were Paladin Danse rallies all the BoS soldiers who still believe in him, despite the revelation that he is a synth, which leads to a confrontation between you, Danse, and Elder Maxson, where you and Danse force Elder Maxson to stand down as Elder, and someone, either you or Danse, becomes the new Elder. Though they are still hellbent on destroying the Institute, and the plotline would have continued as it does normally.

-Something around 6 side quests,
--One of which involved underwater content named "20 leagues under the sea"
--Another named "Off the Grid" which shows the vault boy standing with the Diamond City field lights shining on him, and him looking nervous.
--A side quest named "The Replacement" showing a vault boy and vault girl standing next to each other, likely indicating we could have gotten a synth version of the dead spouce
--and two side quests left in the game which can be started via the console, but have no objectives. they are called "That's the Spirit" and "Bullet"

Hmm... the civil war sounds interesting, and with more work could be cool.

I wonder if the Robot Derby was ever meant to be an actual game mechanic or if it always was just an enemy infested ruin with a gimmick.

I looked at it before using Fo4eidt, and didn't see anything that looked obviously like cut content.

The combat zone still has a tone of dialogue and stuff relating to placing bets, I didn't see anything like that in regards to the robo derby.

but I could have missed it because Fo4edit is a pain to use compared to the GECK.

C'mon, they only had like six years of development time. They needed that to fail at developing dynamic lighting!

Huh, among all dissapointments, guns... every gun looks like a portable transformer or something

Gimme an M4 or G3 or AK47, FO2 allready introduced real life guns, and it's not really problematic in my opinion.
The "assault rifle" was absolutely ridiculous. At least call it "Light Machine Gun" or something, and throw in a FAL or G3...

The "combat rifle" came close, but again - it's the only weapon of its kind.

Along with all the other guns they could have added. If they wanted to reuse so many assets why not add the Chinese Assault Rifle?

Or any proper assault rifle, while we're at it... And no, a water-cooled HMG from WWI is not what I consider a proper assault rifle, even if it's chambered in 5.56mm.

So I am not the only one who is thinking "Hey, it rather looks like one of those machine guns from WW1"
As I mentioned before, I really don't like a lot of the aesthetics of Fallout 4. I honestly wish the style of Fallout 1 and 2 was kept as a standard all new designs need to adhere to, and not constantly re invent the looks with every new numbered Fallout game (I am sure in FO5 the designs will be different again)

@The APC,

It's supposed to be a curvy version of this vehicle:

1960s - 1980s, not sure of the exact date. Canceled due to the Bradley IFV.
@Tank ruins, it's a retarded version of the M46 Patton. Seriously? 2 short barreled guns? Half track instead of full track? And what is the engine supposed to resemble? A nuclear engine? A nuclear engine for a COMBAT TANK?! I consider it a SPAA instead of an actual tank tbh. Makes more sense. But I guess it's supposed to be the US' state of the art MBT.

Speaking of which, why did they take the Patton? It was a 50s tank. They could've taken the Abrams and modified its design to fit the technology in Fallout. I actually did that myself.

The Assault Rifle is quite effective, but weights so freaking much (26 pounds!!) when modded that no human being should be able to aim with the bloody thing unless they are in PA. The minigun weights less!

And yeah, I'd have liked a Chinese Assault Rifle or some sort of AKM. They even have a Chinese guy and his crew in the game.

EDIT: a functional Combat Zone would have been good. I actually thought it would be a friendly zone at first. Was bummed to see the raiders rushed at me like every other raider does. Every game has cut content, but this one is particularily obvious

Fallout 3 seemed to suffer the 'cut content' problem as well, like the designers thought "Hey we are going to put all kinds of quests and NPCs here, lets map the places in advance" and then when the time came for that they were like "Fuck it, it is nearly 5 'o clock and I want a beer."

You forgot GILLS. You know those things you were talking about earlier, as not implying FISH, right before you completely dropped the subject and now refuse to even acknowledge it's existence.

Let me refresh your memory:

Just because I keep seeing this, but some amphibians have gills, or start out with them. And amphibians are not fish.

My 30 second google search has shown that Kangaroo do not need to drink water, as they eat seven times more than a human a day and produce enough metabolic water to sustain themselves, however this could be argued to be a function of organism. This is also something attributed to rodents, as Kangaroo is a rodent. Therefore one could technically argue that by starving it, a Kangaroo will die from dehydration. Technically, one can, not an insect or aquatic animal, die from dehydration without needing h2o to drink.

In order to imitate your previous ableist insult: Holy shit, are you retarded? Like, are you a mentally challenged person> Where in fuck did you read that shit? That's probably the dumbest thing I've read all that month. I don't even dislike you as much as other posters do, I think you've brought up good points, but this is really idiotic.

The only thing I can find on Kangaroos not drinking water is this article (http://biologicalexceptions.blogspot.com/2012/01/sorry-i-dont-drink.html) which says nothing about kangaroos, it says something about kangaroo rats, which are NOT Marsupials, they are rodents. But you read the name and immediately assumed Kangaroo, which is incredibly retarded. Any child knows that kangaroos are marsupials not rodents. Jesus fuck.

And they don't generate all their water via metabolic bugfuckery. They have a very efficient processing of water, true, but they DO drink water in the form of moisture collection seeds.

And you accuse people of having poor reading comprehension...
