Halo 2 about to be released, anyone with an X-box going to get it?

(dives for cover)

I'll refer you to the General Gaming Forum

As for Halo 2, I'm a strategy/city-building kind of person and I'm not that excited about Half-Life 2 or Halo 2. Don't get me wrong, I'll buy both, but you just wont see me camping outside the local EB games three days in advance.

*Ahem* On topic...

I'll most likely purchase Halo 2 on PC once the price has come down a bit. I don't own an X-Box or foresee purchasing one, but I'm sure there will be a PC port ('when?' being the operative question). Doesn't sound like it's worth fifty dollars, but the price will drop.

Ditto.

Ecksbocks sucks.

ITS ALSO REALLY BIG WHATS UP WITH THAT!?

Its like ---------------------------------------------------- this big.

Halo 2

its out, the game halo fans have had reserved for ever now is here. this game has awsum multi-player capabilities, and is loads of mind blowing alien squashing fun. hurry and buy it now!!

ill have more input later, ill be busy beating the game.

So, anyone trying out any weird-ass tactics? It seems like everyone migrates toward two areas: the sniper, or the tank. I'm the only one in my Halo group that hops into the ghost and distracts half of the other team while the others sneak inside to capture the flag. The banshee seems like a good distraction vehicle: I feel like I could dodge fire forever with its fancy rolls (with the added bonus of forcing the other team to look up).
The upgrades that they gave the ghost just don't make it fun anymore: I mean, it's WAY too easy to waste the other team with the bonus rate of fire.
I don't think the one thing I really wanted in Halo 2 got added though: I'm talking about a space fighter, so there can be assault matches, UT 2k4 style.

Most of the people who play Xbox/Halo are assholes who wouldn't know a good game if it bit them in the 2D sprite. That said, I own an Xbox, Halo, and Halo 2, as they have been awesome party games ever since I got sick of Smash Brothers.

unfortunately, i have yet to play it... my sex brick is over at my friends house and he cant get it to me untill tomorrow

somewhat off topic- why are there 2 halo 2 threads?

Only with two threads can you hope to contain the awesomeness of Halo 2. Or, with one merged SUPERTHREAD!

I'm stoked on the dual-wielding of weapons, and finally getting my hands on that plasma sword from the original trailer (when Halo was still PC exclusive!).

I love my X-Box, and I can't wait to get paid on Friday, so I can pick this up.

Before, the sight of a red Elite was enough to strike fear into my heart, but even they fall before the might of dual-wielded plasma rifles.

The MC gets a serious power boost in this game: even without dual wielding, you're more of a super soldier and less of a gold Elite plaything this time around. I'm avoiding spoilers, but let me say the story for the single player campaign is much much more interesting than Halo 1's, and it drops you right into awesomeness: no more having to wait until 343 Guilty Spark for things to get interesting.

I have an XBOX, PS2, Gamecube, and a N64, so I think I'm qualified to settle this.

From best to worst of the new consoles, it goes:
PS2: Not necessarily the BEST console, but has the best games. You do have to buy a bunch of crap for it that basically turns it into an XBOX though.
XBOX: No need for memory cards + Halo1/2 - Big everything + modability = second place
Gamecube: Need memory cards - worst graphics + tiniest of all = last place

A lot of people would say "But cal! You can mod yer Xbox!". Well, if I wanted a device that could play DVD's, play roms, and do a whole bunch of other stuff, I'd just use my PC.

I am not an action fan and I WANT to play it so bad...multiplayer fun...fortunately my cousin's nearby own an X-Box and they reserved a copy.
