Climate Change is not real!

Even if fusion would be available tomorrow as a viable energy source, which would be great and surely help, it is still would not be a solution for all issues. There is no magic button someone could push or one key technology we have to develop here and suddenly all issues from the destruction of habitats to exploiting of natural resources would suddenly disappear. I am afraid any changes have to be much deeper because the issues we're facing are systemic. So the solution has to be a systemic one as well. The question is only, how much time do we still have for the transition and how can the transition be achieved without actually destroying exactly the thing we try to preserve. A good and decent live.
 
Financially supporting rich people is the best way to combat climate change.

About nuclear power, one big argument against it is a lack of long term storage solutions for the nuclear waste. But we already have nuclear waste that needs to be stored long term, and stopping nuclear power does not reduce nuclear waste nor does continuing nuclear power increase the problem in a significant manner. Using current reactors for a while longer under next gen plants are ready will not create a large additional volume of nuclear waste, and next gen reactors are much more efficient and create less long term waste to begin with. Nuclear reprocessing can also be used to reduce the volume of the long term waste.
So we already have a problem that needs to be solved either way, and using nuclear power or not will not change that. Might as well continue using nuclear power, if we were really serious about CO2 reduction.

Oh hey, and our ministry for public safety and catastrophe relief or whatever is collecting ideas for a cookbook for cooking without power. Because that's how confident we are in the glorious, glorious Energiewende.

Actually there were much warmer winters a long time ago. Perhaps all of this ice is a freak occurrence, so it needs to be melted to make room for more shopping malls.
