Command and Conquer : Rest in peace

New C&C's are nothing like the old ones except being of the same genre. Doesn't mean they're bad they just don't compare to classics.

Off: Anyone waiting for SC II? Beta is pretty damn good.

Hello sydney_roo,

I am waiting for Starcraft 2, I bought the first game quickly after it was released and Brood Wars after its release.

My biggest worry is that they will put some DRM scheme on it.
As someone who wants to buy it legal it feels like a stab in the back if they did that.

It's got a form of DRM on it linked to the blizzard intermanet service thingy (who's name escapes me despite using it) though it isn't as bad as that crap that Ubisoft pulls. Think it's just a one of registration thing.

Off: Glad to to hear you're up to supporting the franchise, The Dutch Ghost, and so am I. Battle.net or LAN is really the proper way to play the game. Campaign is only an extra content for me. DRM sucks cock but I guess you can only blame the pirates for that unfortunate occurrence.

To be fair DRM has been around for decades but cd keys aren't a pain in the ass.

I'm gonna get it for the campaign mostly. I tend to just build a lot of marines which isn't a sound strategy in multiplayer.

Yep, EA is constantly putting older tracks from games of them into newer games in a new context, for example the track you here in ME2's Afterlife (upper stage) is a track featured in Need for Speed high Stakes...

EA recycles tracks from previous games so they don't have to <s>waste</s> use money making new ones. They're that much of a money-hoarding company.

Not really. Each consecutive C&C game had a completely new soundtrack, with tracks from previous games making an occassional appearance (or being reused - vide the "Scrin" track from the cancelled "Tiberium", which later was reused as a part of the Nod soundtrack, to not waste cash). Besides, there's nothing wrong with using pre-existing tracks for trailers.

You seem to forget that e.g. Fallout 2 reused almost the entire Fallout 1 soundtrack. Interplay was such a money-hoarding company back then, wasn't it?

I know it's hip to hate on EA. How about instead of being trendy, you try thinking for yourself?

I like that some of the older tracks keep appearing. It gives the stuff a kind of familiar feeling.

I have to agree about that at least, returning scores are a nice thing.

A few of the new tracks are pretty neat also:
