Companion Likes/Dislikes make no sense

Just thought I'd point out that Nick Valentine just told me his life's story because I hacked a few terminals in the Greenwich Genetics building and he just LOVED that.

Mildly related. I saw this on Reddit a few hours ago and it instantly reminded me of Piper and the lock picking discussion here. :P

The sad part is this is actually true. This is the level of respect Bethesda has for its consumers' intellect at this point.

Yeah... Most Beth fanboys don't exactly have high functioning intellects at lest judging from their fanboy trolls here.

Don't you love it when people hack terminals. It makes me tingle.

Doesn't beat those times where Cait fell for me because I injected myself with enough Psycho. Love at first sight, I tell ya.

Don't forget lockpicking and being an asshole. At least Cait stops approving of chem use after her quest :D

Are there at least side effects in the game after using Psycho and/or Jet? It would surprise me though. A Bethesda game forcing something like addictions on the player ...

Yeah, there's addiction. But every doctor can cure you easily, and there's addictol around.
Cait's quest is actually about removing her psycho-addiction, which is apparently so strong that it can't be cured without a MacGuffin in a vault full of cannon fodder.

You can still get addicted but there is a universal addiction remover drug called Addictol which you can buy, and you can craft a similar thing at chemistry stations.

Addictol is a funny thing, because the loading screens say it's a "rare" drug and addition is a serious business. Meanwhile you can buy it at every drug-related vendor and find it in various place. Serious business my ass.

You can also craft an addiction removing beverage (I think it is just titled "Refreshing beverage") with very basic ingredients you find anywhere. They should have just removed it if they're going to make it that Streamlined(TM).

Imagine if the game actually contained some consequences to your actions ;)

Want to be awesome in combat? Well, here, take this chem! But oh! You have to go trough some stuff to get the side effects away!

The only one consequence I have seen so far was the quest in Vault 81.

If you give all the cure to help save the kid you wont be able to cure yourself and as a result you will be stuck with a mole rat disease that lowers your max health by 10 or so. I don't think it can be then cured in any way.

You have to be bit by a mole rat for you to get the disease in the first place. Which could be nice, the game doesn't force you to be infected. But you still get the disease if your robot is bitten.
