Deacon FO4 voice actor leaks existence of FO5 pre-production

F3 was okay, it got me into the series so I can't hate it too much.
New Vegas is what got me to love the series.

Right, right. Fallout 3 at least caters to more than just the people who want to fill everything with hot lead, letting you avoid combat by dialogue and perks and actually let you roleplay while that was all cut out in Fo4 because gamers only like CoD, amirite?

I agree, F3 had some interesting parts to it.
I though the DLC was better (Mostly the Pitt and Point Lookout). They had somewhat more interesting choices and interactions.
F4 is just... it does thing better than F3, and if they worked more the writing, it could have been amazing. Even without changing the mechanics too much.

But meh... I'll just play Wasteland 2, at least I get an RPG experience out of that.

The only thing Fallout 4 does better is its shooting and combat mechanics, but it's still not that good.

I'm actually on my second Wasteland 2 playthrough(third really) and I've yet to beat the game.

Nice, I bought for PS4, but I decided I should really get it for my laptop.
I went back and tried the first and found that while it's a bit aged, it's still a fun game and it felt so much more satisfying than F4.

Exactly. While it doesn't show too much on your choices in the Arizona and Californian wastes that much it still feels like you're actually making a difference.

And you're not just saving cats that are ten feet away from a Vault.

But yeah, my first playthrough murdered everyone in Angel Oracle, as I have a "death before retribution" policy with cannibals, and my second playthrough never made a direct save other than quick saves.

Yeah, I like it when you can add challenges to a game to make it more fun.
I'm doing that with New Vegas where I'm playing on Hardcore Mode, but I'm not fast traveling.
It makes the game more rewarding.
Plus the map allows for it, it's a lot of fun to plan out journeys before hand.
But I really should sit down and play Wasteland 2 soon. I played a bit of it, but lost track when I got back to Phantom Pain.
I may play through it after either Fallout 1 or 2.

I finished my FNV modded Hardcore mode recently. I finished the game with the NCR(like always) and shat on the Legion. Now I'm just waiting for The Frontier to do it all over again.

And haven't finished Phantom Pain yet. I lost my cutest Asian soldier while dicking around in an FOB Slaughterhouse and haven't done much since. I just kept doing the White Mamba mission over again to get another female soldier who, after sprinting, doesn't sound like they're dying from a heart attack.

I may have to get New Vegas for my laptop just for mods (That will also give me three copies of NV to choose from and mess around with).

Phantom Pain is really fun, even after 80 hours I'm still having fun. It has a weird ending but if you can look past it, it's pretty funny to see people get pissed at it.
MGSV was an example of how a long running series can improve on the mechanics previous game have without losing its identity.

Not really. Fallout 3 isn't a sequel to Fallout and Fallout 2, but Fallout: New Vegas is. Thus it is Fallout 3, not 4. Fallout 3 should be titled Fallout: DC and Fallout 4, Fallout: Boston, because they're more spin-off games than actual parts of the series.

When you put it that way it makes sense. Alright, I like it. But can Fallout:Boston just be named Fallout:Settlements?

Technically speaking it should probably be called Fallout: Super Mega Ultra Minecraft Settlement Sims Hiking Borderlands Call of Duty Skyrim with guns. But yeah, Fallout: Settlements works.

Well the thing about the whole Borderlands is that loot doesn't fall out of enemies and glows when you murder your trillionth raider. Never really understood that.

I don't think Obsidian will do another Fallout, and I'm glad for it, Obsidian is better than needing BGS handouts.
I really love the Fallout series, and if Obsidian doesn't make another Fallout game, that likely means that there never will be a real one ever again. I get that everyone thinks Obsidian is beyond sucking up to Bethesda and I totally agree, but surely we could treat it like more of an artistic thing. Surely continuing a great series is to some degree more important than pride.

I personally think that it would be one hell of a waste to let Fallout die so that Obsidian show independence from Bethesda.

As much as I want Obsidian to do another Fallout, if it doesn't happen, I wouldn't mind so much.
I'm happy we got New Vegas, it's one of my all-time favourite games and left that side on the series on a high.
Who did win the battle of Hoover Dam?
As much as I would like to know, leaving it up in the air feels right.
Besides, Bethesda would just ignore it anyway. It doesn't fit "their vision" which wasn't Fallout's vision anyway.
I guess we could say this is a series which has lost its way.
On a side note, it must be odd for a lot of you to know that what was once a beloved cult classic has now turned mainstream.
At the same time, it must be odd that 10 years ago, Fallout was targeting a very different audience.

I understand everyone wants a proper Fallout game, but it is now what BGS has made it, I'm content to let the series die. I mean look at FO4 there is nothing from FNV in that game, BGS decided that nothing in FNV was worth bringing to FO4, that speaks volumes on where they want to take this series. We can hope Obsidian one day decides to make their own post apocalyptic IP that is a spiritual successor to the Fallout series, til then Fallout is rated B for Bethtard.
