Fixed that for you

Yeah I'm done with Fallout until somebody with a working cerebellum takes the reins of the Fallout series. It doesn't mean I won't talk shit and criticize Bethesda and the Nu-Fallouts, it just means I'm making a difference with my wallet by not buying another shitty Bethesda game again.

I'm guessing Obsidian will be announcing a new game in three days, which I posted about in the General Gaming and Hardware forum, and it's definitely not Fallout because Paradox is publishing it, so it should be expected that an Obsidian developed Fallout game would not be coming anytime in 2017, for perspective. Even 2018 would be a stretch because that would mean a less than 2 years for its development. So yeah, I don't have my hopes up for such a game coming soon like FNV did after F3.

Bethesda opened a Montreal studio late last year, so no, sadly Obsidian isn't going to be doing a spin off. If this rumor is true, the expect said Montreal studio to be handling this game and regular old Bethsoft to be handling Elder Scrolls 6

That's pretty interesting, but I kinda get a feeling it's not gonna happen. I just have a feeling that if any new Fo game comes out soonish, it will be by the Montreal studio. Less chance of being shown up by a superior dev lol

The Montreal studio would probably not include the skills system again, on the demand by Bethesda. I'm adamant about keeping the skills system for reasons I could write lots of paragraphs on, but if they insist on only using perks, then they better make use of the ranks in perk checks.

I'd care more about them sticking closer to the tone of 1, 2, and New Vegas yet still being creative.

I'm with ya on that Practicat. I want another Obisidan FO, but knowing Bethsoft, if they can keep it on as tight a lease as possible, they will. If said new FO game is being developed at the Montreal studio, it's a sure bet it will be as close to FO4 as it can be.

I just hope the next game is good, to be honest I didn't like fallout 4 as much as 3 because there was a missing atmosphere that had to do with many thing like textures design etc. It would be cool if they could have a fallout game that has many similar aspects from fallout 1, 2,3,4, and new vegas all crammed in one. I really liked the design of fallout 1 and it would be cool to explore vaults like vault 13 in first person. Some of the problems I had with fallout 4 were things like the lack of crazy people with face paint all over their bodies or people with wizard like robes in a post apocalyptic retro future game. But I guess all of this stuff only really happened in places like new vegas or California idk. The thing with fallout 4 was that everything looked kinda new like it wasn't even anything differnet from an earthquake or tsunami, and there were tons of places that I thought was gonna have something in it like all the power plants nd bulding I come across are empty I think the voice acting for your character took a toll on fallout 4 and since it just looked like a hurricane came through boston you weren't even that awed as something like finding oasis in fallout 3, I remember finding oasis in fallout 3 I thought there was no hope that it was probably just gonna be wasteland the entire game but I found oasis and that was really cool because I had no idea that an entire forest could be found at the edge of the wasteland where everything was destroyed. But when I found the institute in fallout 4 I was just like meh, then I found the monkeys and that was cool, then I got to fight them and that was awesome.

inb4 it's Fallout: Hawaii, with the creatures just being copy-pasted Deathclaws in Hula skirts and Super Mutants in ALOOOOOOHA T-Shirts shooting with coconut guns, and the ghouls in surfer shorts. Because they were totally there in canon, right?

By what they said in the Bethsoft.com announcement of them opening the Montreal studio, I would say they will be focusing on console and mobile games :
Bethesda Game Studios Montreal has already established a core team of more than 40 developers, spanning both console and mobile development. The studio will be managed by industry veteran Yves Lachance as Studio Director.

That actually sounds like fun.

If Fallout had been taken over by the guys behind Saint's Row, I would be down with this. With those guys nothing they'd make would be "canon", but it'd probably be a lot of fun.

Wasn't it then that they shifted over 'all' their focus on FO4?
I mean, they could've had a... Skeleton crew? Working on it since FO3's last DLC. Like, some people just doing smaller things, prepping it.

Bethesda Game Studios is a fairly small team, for an AAA developer. Little over 100 people - roughly half of CD Projekt RED's size. Their publisher's wish to expand the company into Montreal reflects this.
