Well, I've been at NMA for over a month now, I think, and this comment seems to sum up about every single post I've seen here regarding Fallout 3. You guys(yes, I'm generalizing because it's true)
are basing your entire opinions on this game over screenshots and gameplay vids, which is pretty ridiculous. I still don't understand WHAT Bethesda has done that is so bad.

And no, I'm not employed by Bethesda. I'm just a hardcore gamer that appreciates GOOD games, and I don't see how Fallout 3 has no chance to become one, according to many of the posts I've seen here.

I believe what most people are angry about is that its nothing like F1 or F2 save for the theme (which has also been altered). No one is saying it wont be a good game, just that its not like the originals - which is true.

I know they are angry about the many differences, and I understand that, but I have seen MANY posts here declaring that the game will suck.
 
Well, there was a study that came to conclusion that human flesh tastes like pork.......can somebody explain why cannibalism is considered less cruel than child-killing?

Social responsibility my ass!

Taking the life of a child is probably the most disgusting act of wretchedness a human being can commit. Cannibalism is horrible, but it in no way compares to the immense emotional implications of stealing someone's baby from them. Children are innocent, and to kill them is satanic in and of itself. It may seem like I'm going overboard here, but whenever I hear of someone murdering a little kid, it makes my blood boil.
 
Do you think the players really have all that possibilities or it is something that they made up? I could use my imagination too, to belive my chartacter is an alien spy coming from Alpha Centaury.

The only thing I like so far in the screenshots is the glasses the punky is wearing. To think you have to see everytime your ugly face in the bullet time anims!

Then a great question for you kikomiko:
How are you basing your opinion that Fallout 3 is going to be teh awesomes, based on the exact same things?

I would deem that after all the info we have got, we can make an accurate judgement based on our preferences in a game.
Its like a saying we have in my country:
"I don't have to go into the pigsty to know its gonna smell like shit."

You can cannibalize small children.....lets face it both of these activity's are wretched, on the other hand Fallout is just a game and you cant use social responsibility to take out one activity(child killing) and totally forget about the other one (as if cannibalism is pro-social)

Umm...when was the last time that I said this was going to be a great game? A long time ago. I'm afraid of saying it, because it might not be true-just how your guys' line of thought might not be true.
 
Also, the armour looks like a modified metal armour to me rather than power armour.

As I said, it looks more like the original T-51b than the default power armor model in FO3 does.

Thats YOUR moral preconceptions speaking. Some cultures hold the life of the elders higher than the life of babys/kids. Why? Well the old ones have more experience/knowledge while a baby can just be made again in 9 months....

Anyway we are talking about a game that lets you shoot an old beggar in the face, kill dozens of innocent women.... heck, it even lets you destroy an entire town (and, like, the kids who live in there?) So, is it really that different to kill children, in a game?

Exactly what I was trying to transmit... hey, I like the overall graphics and feel, I think they got it mostly right... but seeing that made me wonder how many times will I feel like I'm in some elven ruins from cyrodil...

It is different. Children are innocent. They haven't done anything to deserve to be brutally murdered. Sure, taking a life is taking a life, but why do you think any parent would rather they die instead of their child? It's because kids haven't experienced all life has to offer, while most adults have-and they have also had the opportunity to sin, which children are not guilty of.

Except those brutal children in Fallout that steal daddy's tools and hide them in the rocks... Oh and those little devils in the Den that steal your equipment. I think a kid in Klamath throws a Molotov cocktail at you if you piss him off...

Granted none of these actions REALLY deserve death, but like all people in Fallout, kids are just trying to survive and none of them are truly innocent.
 
I can't wait until someone mods Fallout3 with children's death animations. Even if they just explode into a a shower of gibs, like a Doom imp hit with a rocket. That's the easier way to do it.
